Violet takes on a brutal unsub!

After listening to the audiobook version of When Darkness Falls, I was reminded of just how good this book was, and with Natalie Naudus’ excellent narration the story really came alive. The following is my original Amazon review from 6/30/22.

From the opening chapter to the final page, When Darkness Falls had me locked in my chair anticipating what might come next in Violet Darger’s latest case. Along with the intense action and the interaction of the well-developed characters, the scenes were set with such detail I felt as if I were watching a movie. While I’ve enjoyed each of the previous Violet Darger stories, this one seemed to go to a new level that makes me wonder what’s next for Violet and Loshak. I received an Advance Reader Copy from the Authors and chose to provide this review.

Much too much extra blathering Mx it is disturbing when so many good people are killed before they catch the subject.

Redemption

I don’t write reviews very often, however I felt like I needed to leave a review on their last book. I was disappointed. BUT THIS BOOK, it delivered! It was intense. And while I still feel we deserved more insight into the triggering moment from the unsub, it’s more than we have gotten from the last few books. I really hope they keep up with this quality.

Love. this series, this was a little too gruesome and graphic for me, but a decent story overall!

Too much description over non material facts there is way too much description over every

While description is great, too much is annoying. Here, the author describes minutia which drags on and on before it gets to substance. Also, I read most of the series and I cringe when the author repeatedly and improperly uses the word maw rather than mouth. Ugh, just say mouth.
