Lead by the dark wizard, Premier, the kingdom of Alexandria was almost overrun by the foul creatures from the Wastelands. With the help of his friends and neighboring kingdoms, Hellsfire was able to defeat him, but only at the cost of his mentor.
Hellsfire is now a wizard, but he must finish what he started by hunting down Premier and retrieving the Book of Shazul. He must venture deep into the Wastelands, bypassing his way through thousands of creatures bent on killing him.
Beating in the heart of the Wastelands is something far more dangerous than Premier or his beasts waiting for Hellsfire. It will force Hellsfire to make a devastating choice - a choice that will have repercussions not only for the Wastelands and Northern Shala, but for the entire land and the one he loves the most.
What once was one, will then be two, and never again be whole.

Thought this was a well written book. I think the narration was too flat throughout, maybe a different narrator or maybe just read this series. Kudos to the author, kept me listening!Good Story

Hellsfire, true to form, immediately lands in hot water and in the middle of a war. It's interesting to me that Hellsfire seems to know when to keep his mouth shut but has a very hard time speaking when he should. He accepts things that aren't his fault and doesn't ask questions when he knows he ought to.
All in all, this was a go between book where significant things happen and Hellsfire learns more about his powers. I will look forward to the 3rd in the series to see Hellsfire truly mature and come into his powers and become the powerful force he is destined to be.
The narration, while unconventional, is really rather good and once you get used to Brian Zee's style, it flows along quite nicely.
I received this audiobook for free through Audiobook Boom! in exchange for an honest review.

This book was better than the first one!
Hellsfire is a full wizard now, he has matured, and he is on a mission to find Premier.
This book had just about everything in it, from, Magic, Adventure, Goblins and yes, Ogres.
The story line was well developed as well as the characters and it was hard to put this
book down.
There were a couple of inconsistencies but Overall, an Entertaining Read and I look forward to the third book.
Bryan Zee did really well with the narration.

The sequel to Hellsfire..

There were a few places in the story that I found to be a little... Weird? Like maybe I wouldn't have gone that direction... It's a strange thing to say, but I don't know how else to describe it.
The narrator lost me once or twice with his performance of this book, but he is still overall a good performer.
I requested and received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, publisher, or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. I was NOT required to write a positive review and this reflects my honest opinion of the work.

It's difficult to say why. I think it might be the narrator. There was no emotional variation in his reading. His tone and pace for fear, passion, excitement and anger was all the same. Not a boring voice,it just goes do background noise. I heard his voice, but did not listen to what he said.
Sorry, I think this story might do better with a different narrator.
