How much was actually understandable

I like the part in the beginning that outlines the way to listen and read. Don’t have any real dislike for

Dialogues for one

The dialogie format makes sense to explore philosophy. Plato would have approved. And you get quite a good basic overview of western thinkers. But the audio has one narrator trying to do different voices for each character (the Professor gets a Father Christmas ‘yo-ho-ho’ voice). It doesn’t work well.

Probably better as a book

I thought the content was interesting, but the fact that all different characters are voiced by the same person really put me off. The voice actor did what they could to make different voices but I didn't find the voices natural or convincing and many are so similar that I often was confused as to who was now speaking. I struggled to keep listening solely for that reason.
