Publisher's Summary

Simply magical.

Even though I'm reading this book for the thousands time I still love it. I always will! The voice actor was really good!

Great book. nicely read

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

yes.
It's Harry Potter. cant go wrong really. You know what you are getting there.
Rufus beck has a lovely voice.

What other book might you compare Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen: Gesprochen von Rufus Beck (Harry Potter 1) to, and why?

Definitely comparable to Stephen Frys English version.
Not a native German Speaker so can't say anything intelligent about the translation, but it suits my purposes.

What about Rufus Beck’s performance did you like?

I'm using it to improve my German listening skills. It is everything that you'd expect from a good audiobook. Nice voice, pleasant to listen to, expressive in his characterisation but it is still very clear what he is saying, I can follow pretty much all of it despite being really not very good at German. It has helped me enormously.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes. absolutely.
I'm doing it in bite-sized chunks on my commute though. but definitely something you could listen to over again.

Any additional comments?

if you're one of the many worldwide learning a language through the medium of Harry Potter, and you are working on your German then you cant really go wrong tbh.

Brilliant Audiobook!

This is a brilliant audiobooks and performed very well. After listening to the clips of this version and the original German recording, I preferred the voice of Beck as it is slightly more comprehensible. The cover art done by Olly Moss is also incredible and is one of the reasons I have the whole set. Definitely worth trying as you can always return it if it isn't for you.
