Publisher's Summary

USA Today best-selling author Sheila Roberts returns with a brand-new series set on the charming Washington coast

Once happily married, Jenna Jones is about to turn 40, and this year for her birthday - lucky her - she’s getting a divorce. She’s barely able to support herself and her teenage daughter, but now her deadbeat artist ex is hitting her up for spousal support...and then spending it on his “other” woman.

Still, as her mother always says, every storm brings a rainbow. And when she gets a very unexpected gift from her Great-Aunt Edie, things seem to be taking a turn for the better. Aging aunt Edie is finding it difficult to keep up her business running The Driftwood Inn, so she invites Jenna to come live with her and run the place. It looks like Jenna’s financial problems are solved!

Or not. The town is a little more run-down than Jenna remembers, but that’s nothing compared to the ramshackle state of The Driftwood Inn. Aunt Edie is confident they can return it to its former glory, though Jenna feels like she’s jumped from the proverbial frying pan into the beach fire.

But who knows? With the help of her new friends and a couple of handsome citizens, perhaps that rainbow is on the horizon after all. Because, no matter what, life is always good at the beach.

Featuring all the warmth, romance and trademark humor of Sheila Roberts’s writing, this new series will delight longtime fans and welcome a generation of new readers.

Didn’t finish

I raised three kids by myself and never would’ve allowed my child to act like this. The scenario just got more and more ridiculous and I had to quit listening. If I wanted a book to bring me down I would’ve kept listening but I quit. Not entertaining at all

Good reead, interesting

It is easy to visualize the inn, beach, town and even the people. The reason I gave it two."Fours" instead of all "fives" is the ending. It seems as if the author ran out of steam. Ends fairly abruptly. But the character development s good and I enjoyed the way the author slowly revealed traits and changes in response to the story line. Recipes at the end are a nice touch! Someone needs to check the oatmeal cookie recipe since the oil is never used the way it is read now. Looking forward to reading the next book and following the lives of these interesting people.

Welcome to Moonlight Harbor

I enjoyed this book about a woman who must find her footing emotionally and financially after a divorce. I love a story about a mother who does the impossible for her child. I enjoyed that this story was set near the beach. I look forward to listening and reading more stories from this series and from this narrator.

Two main characters were annoying!

I was a single parent, and I would have never allowed my children to act the way the daughter in the book behaved! She was obnoxious, and the mom spent a lot of the book feeling guilty because she couldn’t make her child happy. It was very annoying! Other than the relationship between the mother and daughter, the book was OK, except the unrealistic way that the heroine initially raised money to save the inn. I purchased the second book in the series when I bought the first one, but I’m not in a hurry to listen to it, even though some of the characters were likable, and it might be interesting to hear how their storylines develop.

Good story

I mostly enjoyed this except for the unruly teen.
The narrator is good except when voicing others, then not good and she makes a lot sd angry when they’re not.

Why you don’t lie to your kids

There’s no need to be cruel but this is a great example why you don’t lie to your kids. By trying to shield her daughter, she made things worse. There will always be people who will disappoint you. Better to know who you can count on.

Don't waste your time

Don't waste your time unless you want to hear all about a whiney 14 year old and ineffective parenting. I'm half way through and I doubt that I'll finish it.

Delightful

If you’re looking for something that’s light and airy this is the book to listen to. Nothing heavy about it and a good moral story. I really enjoyed this one!
