Publisher's Summary

The world needs protecting - before they can build in space they have to get into space.

There is a "false queen" attacking vampires in Asia - Bethany Anne sends her own to look into that.

The moon base needs to be settled, can Team BMW make it happen? Do they have enough people? Can they get the right people to help?

John's cousin is now part of the team. Will she make it?

There is a group looking to find them and they are using Barb to do it.

This is the first book in the second arc (books 8-14) for The Kurtherian Gambit. The stakes are raised a lot higher!

Please note: There is flagrantly foul language in this novel. The main character does not have a problem with cussing, just uninspired cussing.

If you haven't listened to the previous books, you will need to go back to number one (the book does not explain the characters and previous relationships/deeds).

Pffft Michael

First and foremost Narration by Emily Beresford is rock solid. Second minus 2 stars for the ahole Michael getting with the girl. The guy is a unlikable prick, he is the the highschool jock ahole and every single stereo type that follows it.

Other than that, the book is good.

Michael sucks!!

as good as the others.

I have real them all multiple times and go back to them when there is a lack of other books out. I still buy the audio to listen to even when I have read one 4 or more times. Emily is one of the great narrators out there. if you ever need another male for one of the other series may I suggest James Patrick Cronin. He does the demon accord series. Thank you everyone who helps with these Books!

Welcome to Space!

I really love this series and all it's spin-offs. Ms. Beresford has a way of getting a listener excited and immersed in the story.

Finally get to stop and smell the roses

As Bethany Anne works to save the world, she and her team still fight against terrorism. ..........,........... The Vamps keep ganging up on her own and she sets them straight.

Sorry TLDR

I've been hemming and hawing about writing this, and I've finally realized it's important to express my opinion and thoughts here, if only to create some discourse on the subject.
I truly have enjoyed the story arc through all these books and I've felt my feelings (positive and negative) for the characters grow because of some exceptional character development. That being said, I also have felt a growing misogynistic and gender biased tone growing more and more throughout the series. I didn't expect this outcome for a myriad of reasons. The most notable reasons being that Michael Anderle built the series around a woman protagonist, and that the books are performed by Emily Beresford, who happens to be an extremely talented woman.
Im not going to dive into specifics here because I feel like dissecting individual passages without room for response can only breed animosity and resentment. What I will say is that I have felt that some female characters have become apologists for sexist remarks and opinions of male characters. The remarks are sometimes in jest, sometimes on accident, and even sometimes more overt, but overarchingly Anderle has resolved these situations by the women excusing behavior or questioning the validity of their own initial discomfort. The issues do not end with apologists female characters though. I also feel like Bethany Ann has become the exception to the rule of sexist typecasting and stereotypical character roles. I feel like this problem can be observed both in the mental acuity and physicality job roles. We see many women with prominent roles in the series but more often than not they are found assisting a greater intellect or physically stronger man. I also feel like the gender stereotypes of "logical, but emotionally obtuse man" and "fiery, illogical woman who is emotionally aware" have become more common tropes.
I feel it best to also share some positivity here. Firstly, I think that Michael Anderle is a superbly talented writer. Secondly, I think these flaws I feel I'm seeing do not warrant "cancellation" or "indignant outrage", I have shared my thoughts in the hopes that they may shed light on underlying or unconscious beliefs that can be questioned and reviewed by readers and writers alike. Lastly I'd still like to thank Michael Anderle and Emily Beresford for bringing an exceptional story to life.
I wrote all this with high regard for the skills, intelligence, and creativity of both writer and narrator. I hope this review can be received in the same context it was written.

Brilliant entertainment

Firstly I’ve read all the books.
Now I’m using my credits to listen to them too!.

They are just really good solid entertainment.
Actually think they would make a good TV series!.

Emily Beresford does the stories proud and as an Englishman I find her “English” accents funny as hell.

Now bugger off because I’ve got the next to listen to now!.
