Max Booth III
Soon to be a major motion picture starring Sierra Mccormick, Vinessa Shaw, and Pat Healy!
A family on the verge of self-destruction finds themselves isolated in their bathroom during a tornado warning.
"Don't look now but Max Booth III is one of the best in horror, and he's only getting started." (Josh Malerman, author of Bird Box and Malorie)

The concept of this novella was good enough for me to finish it, despite not enjoying it as much as I'd hoped. The young child character was embarrassing to listen to. The dialogue was so bad, I'm not sure if anyone could have made it better. Actually, I'm not sure if this author has ever met a child. Or been one.
Content warning: "Smell my farts, sis!" That poor VA.
unsatisfying ending and nothing is revealed. moments that should have been cathartic were not, because I was too distracted by plot holes and poor character choices.
[SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER]
witches I can get behind, but a castaway'd alcoholic picking baby wipes and Listerine before NyQuil? seems convenient.
Now I get why some people hate horror
