Publisher's Summary

Home on Lestaron Island, Jack finds himself with a new, much more domestic array of problems. The doubts unearthed by Volandar’s assertion that Jack’s father is still alive push him into an unorthodox and potentially illegal investigation.

Now that Mira’s living at the mansion under the guise of his new gardener, he's also forced to carefully manage the unexpected toll it places on his relationship with Ryoko. And of course, his ever-present need to feed poses the new question of whom to bite and how often.

Warning: This book contains graphic sex, a slow building harem, and increasingly disconcerting moral dilemmas.

Bad decision dinosaur

The Main charecter is the litteral incarnation of bad decisions, his inability to act like an adult, check his every faintest desire temptation and thought, or you know think 3 seconds into the future for consequences is the primary impetus for story progression. there is a point where the dude litterally summons a demon after given warnings from every one that its fucking stupid and he should be very careful cause she would try to make a deal that would hurt him witch he casually responds oh ill be careful, not more then a minute in hes about to make a deal to release a demon THAT WAS BOUND FOR HIS OWN FUCKING SAFETY AS IT HAD MALICIOUS INTENT TOWARDS HIM ALL SO THAT SAME DEMON WOULD SHOW UP AND GIVE HIM INFORMATION HE WANTS CAUSE HE CANT PUT EFFORT INTO A NORMAL FUCKING MEANS!

Missed the mark here

Ok story, decent intimate action. Feels more of a fluff-er in more then one way. Hope the next one is better.

"I have to do this": The Book

I've enjoyed this series so far. It's not as "hardcore" as other books I've listened to, but it's alright. I like the characters and the interactions between them up until now.

But this book just turns Jack into an idiot. He wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed to begin with. But when every single decision he makes is wrong, there's something to worry about. He doesn't get a single decision correct in this book. And every time he makes a decision he justifies it by simply saying "Please, (insert character), I HAVE to do this" and the character he talks to just goes right asking with it. Nobody stops him. At most they say "Jack, don't do this. There's got to be another way" and he always says "I don't have a choice here"

YES YOU DO!! You have a ton of choices, but your idiot self doesn't see it until after the mistake is made and got regret your decision. But hey, surprise! You make another idiot mistake just a few chapters later! It was so frustrating because I gave this guy the benefit of the doubt that he was at least clever. Nope. He fumbles had over heels into blatant traps, ignores what is actually important, and goes looking for trouble where he didn't need to! This last point especially! You don't need to find out, you WANT to find out (leaving it vague, because spoilers) and you really don't need to know

This book was a big miss, but I see it as a build up to another story that the author wanted to go to. So this book was the catalyst to that direction. I just feel bad Jack had to suffer for it

The MC is TSTL

I have tried to give the MC a chance and by this book I would figure that he would get a clue. But he still make very stupid decisions and ignores the obvious. I'm done with this series.

Most Pathetic MC Ever Written

Hughes, you should really be ashamed of the MC you've created with this series. He has to have all his power given to him, constantly makes decisions that are so stupid I had to stop listening for a few days each time, and is an overall pushover with no spine or even common sense. How can you feel good about producing something like this? The series was good...ish until now, but this is just unbearable. I feel sorry for the narrator for working on this project. She must have been cringing even more than is readers.

loved it

The best part of this book is how it tackles a very serious subject of mental health. Along with everything else, the story manages to ease a real problem that affect many on a daily basis. Another great book and I can't wait to continue to the next.

endings

So the endings could certainly use some work but this was certainly one of the better ones. I mean it honestly only needs like one more sentence usually to seem like an actual ending.
