Why restrict yourself to just one belief when the world is filled with informative teachings and beliefs? Did you know Asatru, the religion of the Norse, is one of the largest growing religions today? You don't need to be Scandinavian or even European to join. Their ranks are growing, with people around the world turning to a more organic way of worshipping. This audiobook is all about Norse and Celtic beliefs and how they are just as relevant, if not more so today, than they were over a millennium ago.

Elizabeth Lesser believes that if women’s voices had been equally heard and respected throughout history, humankind would have followed different hero myths and guiding stories - stories that value caretaking, champion compassion, and elevate communication over vengeance and violence. Cassandra Speaks is about the stories we tell and how those stories become the culture. It’s about the stories we still blindly cling to, and the ones that cling to us: the origin tales, the guiding myths, the religious parables, the literature and films and fairy tales passed down....

At the beginning of his career, Joseph Campbell developed a lasting fascination with the cultures of the Far East, and explorations of Buddhist and Hindu philosophy later became recurring motifs in his vast body of work. However, Campbell had to wait until middle age to visit the lands that inspired him so deeply. In 1954, he took a sabbatical from his teaching position and embarked on a year-long voyage through India, Thailand, Cambodia, Burma, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and finally Japan.

Story
Greek myths were full of powerful witches, unpredictable gods and sword-wielding slayers. They were also extreme: about families who turn murderously on each other; impossible tasks set by cruel kings; love that goes wrong; wars and journeys and terrible loss. There was magic, there was shape-shifting, there were monsters, there were descents to the land of the dead. Humans and immortals inhabited the same world, which was sometimes perilous, sometimes exciting.

Everything you want to know about Norse paganism as a beginner. Paganism and the belief in natural forces and beings are not new phenomena. Different systems have their own beliefs and religions, but Norse paganism is quite common these days and is widely different from Greek or Roman paganism. Many people who want to explore Norse paganism struggle to start for numerous reasons. The self-doubt of not knowing where to start, the lack of resources, and the difficulty of finding a mentor are some factors that stop people from starting.

Publisher's Summary
Meet mythology's 50 fiercest females in this modern retelling of the world's greatest legends.
From feminist fairies to blood-sucking temptresses, half-human harpies, and protective Vodou goddesses, these are women who go beyond long-haired, smiling stereotypes. Their stories are so powerful, so entrancing, that they have survived for millennia. Lovingly retold and updated, Kate Hodges places each heroine, rebel, and provocateur firmly at the center of their own narrative. Players include:
- Bewitching, banished Circe, an introvert famed and feared for her transfigurative powers
- The righteous Furies, defiantly unrepentant about their dedication to justice
- Fun-loving Ame-no-Uzume who makes quarreling friends laugh and terrifies monsters by flashing at them
- The fateful Morai sisters who spin a complex web of birth, life, and death
Find your tribe, fire your imagination, and be empowered by this essential anthology of notorious, demonized, and overlooked women.

An amazing book!
This book is a deep dive into the stories of female mythological beings. Kate Hodges did an amazing job researching & digging deeper into the original tales of women & goddesses from all over the world; she looks into the patriarchal & Christian influence that changed the stories into what they are now & retells & reclaims the power of the original story.
Kate's narration is fantastic as well, the speed & tone she reads matches the book perfectly (probably because she wrote it lol).
I definitely recommend you get this book!

Seductresses and she-monsters, nymphs and demi-goddesses, populate the famous myths of Ovid's Metamorphoses. But what happens when the story of the chase comes in the voice of the woman fleeing her rape? When the beloved coolly returns the seducer's gaze? When tales of monstrous transfiguration are sung by those transformed? In voices both mythic and modern, Wake, Siren revisits each account of love, loss, rape, revenge, and change. It lays bare the violence that undergirds and lurks in the heart of Ovid’s narratives.

Story
Nationally bestselling author of Daughters of Sparta Claire Heywood returns with an imaginative and female-centered reinterpretation of the myth of the great hero Perseus, told through the voices of three women who are sidelined in the traditional version—his mother, Danae; his trophy, Medusa; and his wife, Andromeda—but whose viewpoints reveal a man who is not, in fact, a hero at all.

London, 1799. Dora Blake, an aspiring jewelry artist, lives with her odious uncle atop her late parents’ once-famed shop of antiquities. Intrigued by her uncle’s peculiar behavior, Dora turns to young, ambitious antiquarian scholar Edward Lawrence who eagerly agrees to help. Edward believes the ancient vase is the key that will unlock his academic future; Dora sees it as a chance to establish her own name.

Story
When a banished witch falls in love with the legendary trickster Loki, she risks the wrath of the gods in this moving, subversive debut novel that reimagines Norse mythology. Angrboda’s story begins where most witches' tales end: with a burning. A punishment from Odin for refusing to provide him with knowledge of the future, the fire leaves Angrboda injured and powerless, and she flees into the farthest reaches of a remote forest. There she is found by a man who reveals himself to be Loki, and her initial distrust of him transforms into a deep and abiding love.
