Publisher's Summary

In its fight for global dominance, Communist China has thrown out the old rules of war. China expert General Robert Spalding walks us through their new playbook.

Many Americans are finally waking up to the alarming reality of China's stealth war on the United States and puzzling over how to push back against its insidious infiltration. What few realize is that we have one real advantage in this war: The Chinese Communist Party strategy for total war has been written out in Unrestricted Warfare, the Chinese book, well known there, that has become their new Art of War.

In War Without Rules, retired Air Force Brigadier General Rob Spalding takes Americans inside Unrestricted Warfare. He walks listeners through the principles of this book, revealing the Chinese belief that there is no sector of life outside the realm of war. He shows how the CCP itself has promised to use corporate espionage, global pandemics, and trade violations to achieve dominance. Most importantly, he provides insight into how, once Americans are aware of the tactics, we can fight back against CCP’s creeping influence.

More than a vital book for those interested in China, War Without Rules is essential for anyone—from policymakers and diplomats to businessmen and investors—finally waking up to the stealth war. Knowledge is power, and it’s time to arm yourself.

Bombshell revelations!

War? What????
I majored in Chinese Language and culture but this just meant that I had Chinese propaganda shoved down my throat at an American university and during my study abroad. My real china education came after my graduation when I began to try to grapple with the juxtaposition of what I saw in China vs what I was told I was seeing. Poverty, huge gaps between wealthy and poor, a system where the only way to get ahead was to have guanxi (connections) and 99.% of Chinese don’t have those. But my journey was one motivated by social justice in China. Never ever did I suspect the communist minders following me around wherever I went were at war with the US!

The revelations in War without Rules make so much sense! I feel like slapping my forehead. It makes so much sense. So many of my interactions finally have context now! So many Chinese saying and metaphors and and the subtle under text of everything we were being taught and told. It was: “American is big right now and we will give you your due, but our day is coming and YOU will give us our due, just you wait.” The funny thing is AMERICANS DONT THINK THAT WAY. Therefore we have trouble recognizing an opponent would think that way.

Americans are too busy self- critiquing and working to distinguish ourselves from the cultural box so we can figure out our hyper-Individualism. I have done this and I am not critiquing our process of individualization. It is part of what makes our nation and culture great. Would we have had the great minds like Tesla, Ford, Franklin, Wesley, Webster, Mott, Lincoln, Casey-Stanton, and so so much more without this process? I think not. BUT everything in moderation. When we get so hung up on cultural critique and hyper-individualism that we miss a war happening before our eyes; the growth of the single greatest threat to our nation since the Revolution, then, folks, we have an imbalance.

We have to ask a simple question, do we want to be a nation anymore or do we want to self- focus on hyper individualism and national critique? It would be real ironic if we were still critiquing a nation that was no longer around because we missed fighting for it because we were too busy critiquing it!

If Half of What Author says is True……….

Listening to this audiobook literally made my stomach turn and my neck got stiff from all of the head shaking. Serious allegations are leveled by the author. His main premise is that China I.e. the Chinese Communist Part (CCP) is following the recommendations of a 1989 book titled Unrestricted Warfare authored by 2 People’s Liberation Army (PLA) colonels and is currently hell bent on creating as much internal discord and misinformation in America as possible. To the CCP, there is absolutely nothing off limits when considering methods to screw with America’s economy, financial markets, military readiness and capabilities and generally our entire way of going about our lives. Unscrupulous is the word that springs to the lips.

This is a truly scary audiobook. My god, as my title says, If half of what Author says is True….. America and all freedom loving nations must find a way to shut China down and soon or we are in for a long term world of hurt at the hands of these bastards.

I liked how it was explained in layman terms, and how surprisingly close it is to our current situation.

Best book ever

Every one needs to read this book for your sake and for your children. We will never win if we don’t understand who the real true enemy is. Mistakes can never be higher right now. God for bid if the enemy does win. Remember the only freedom you will ever get is death. So America and the free world please WAKE UP.

Wow!

A genuinely needed perspective of our current reality that all need to read! Taking an honest look at how we operate as a society is the only way we can acknowledge our reality and make the necessary changes. Honestly don't understand how this not a required text for all military PMEs.

Don't understand China or just playing naive?

I never believed the politicians and elites truly don't know what China has been doing and thought China would change when becoming rich. I think they are just pretending to be naive and innocent. After all, why would they care?

Most voters (aka consumers) only care about cheap goods. Politicians/elites and their families have been happily making/taking money from China. Why should they care about what Uyghurs and HKers are going through and what might happen many years later? Next models of iPhone and game consoles are probably more important for many people. Communism won't control the world overnight. Even if it happens, those elites are the least affected or may even benefit from it. This is just human nature. “The only thing that we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history.”

Honest and intelligent

the authors background provides a unique insight into the challenges that the west faces with dealing with the CCP. This is not a book by someone who seeks conflict, but rather identifies the situation for what it is

The most important book of the 2020s

The author does a great job sounding the alarm of exactly what's on our horizon if we continue on the path that we are on in Western democracies. This book is a must listen for anyone that appreciates history, military thinking and a peek into the dystopian future.
