Publisher's summary

Danielle and Lamont Graves have a wonderful marriage to outsiders. He is very attentive, loving, and affectionate towards his wife of five years. Having met their senior year of college, the two have been through it all together. While Danielle started her career as a psychotherapist directly after graduating, Lamont had to start from the bottom working his way to the top. In the beginning things were tight, finances were few but with the love they had for one another, it made it all worth it.

An anonymous message leads Danielle on a wild goose chase resulting in her finding out about her dear husband’s constant infidelity. Instead of denying his wrongdoings, Lamont admitted he has cheated for two years out of the five they’ve been married. In his mind the logical excuse was he was bored and frankly wasn’t attracted to his wife anymore.

With the weight of the world and a failed marriage, Danielle has a drunken night drowning her sorrows. Heartbroken, devastated, lacking self-esteem, and loaded with negative debt Danielle has to pick up the pieces of her crumbled life. Assuming things couldn’t possibly get any worse, she was dealt the deadliest blow of them all.

To stay above water with the countless credit card bills, foreclosed home, and repossessed cars holding her credit hostage Danielle is forced to take on a part-time job. Chance meetings, a knight without the armor, and apparent foes within her circle will make themselves visible. Will Danielle get over huge betrayals or will she allow bitterness to consume her rational mind?

Can she allow love to live within her ever again?

Can't Funish...Narrator is too much

I will read this on on Kindle. The narrator is too over the top. The is too much inflection. I enjoy KK Harris's books but I have to return this one solely due to the narration.

Quite Possibly the world’s worst narrator

Everything she read was in the same tone, which might not have been the worst thing if the tone she picked wasn’t jovial. She was speaking to her mother about her husband cheating and their marriage being over and you would have thought she was describing a Christmas spectacular. I WILL be requesting a refund. I read the book for free with kindle unlimited and it was much better.

The content

I’m not sure why I decided to listen to the book. The narrative voice is ridiculous to me and I’m pretty sure it’s the cause of my migraine. I couldn’t stop listening because I can relate to this story on so many levels - but the narration was not the best.

OMG!! The Narrator!!!

This book was SO hard to listen to due to the horrible narration. There is no way I would have allowed this if I were the Author. This Narrator I could see "probably" narrating children's books, The story was good which is the only reason I forced myself to endure the annoying childish voice of this narrator. Just like bad acting..... not everyone is fit for just any role.

Great story!

I loved the story, it was well-developed and kept my attention. Her husband pissed me off with his trifling self. I liked how the narrator switched up the voices even though it was dramatic at times. Overall the story was amazing, I’ve read KK Harris’ books and can’t wait for more of her work to be available through here.

Assault on my ears

This narrator was the worst I have ever endured. It hurt my ears to finish the book. It felt like she was constantly screeching. The story would have been marginally better without such an annoying reader.

That Voice!

The story was awesome however it was hard getting over the "screechy" narrator's voice. I will read the Kindle version.
