Tutoring is gratifying and constantly makes her smile, but when a more seasoned student requests her tutelage, she feels a lot more than gratification. The fact that he’s twelve years her senior does nothing to diminish her attraction to him. For once, she wants to take a chance on something not so safe, and the excitement of that has her feeling things she never thought possible.

Lazarus has a lot of baggage to let go of, and Kiana wants to help him along during the process. But that decision isn’t welcomed by the most important people in her life, causing her to question her actions more than she should. Kiana wonders if love is worth her ignoring her parents’ and sister’s warnings regarding her new relationship, while Lazarus wonders if choosing love is worth the adversity that will come with it. Can Kiana cut ties with her family to choose the ultimate love? Can Lazarus’s ability to love be resurrected and strengthened enough to cause him to become the warrior he once was?

Chefs kiss😘 This was a beautiful story about two beautiful individuals. Even though I knew they’d get their HEA (it’s the hard and fast rule for a romance novel), I still found myself actively rooting for them. This wasn’t an overly dramatic story, or one wrought with twist and turns. It was just a story about two good people trying to live a fulfilling life. Like I said, chef’s kiss.
Both narrators were good.

Just enough of everything I like in a Black romance audiobook! The story, the sex, n the narrators! Nvr get enough of describing the commitment n love a Black man has fr his woman!! 🔥🔥

Loved it! 💝

I truly enjoyed this book. The storyline drew me in. It was such a pleasure to see how a man loved so selflessly and sacrificed so much for the woman he loved. Even though, Jamie wasn't deserving of it, it was nice to see it being offered by a man. Especially in most circumstances, it's woman who usually over pore into our significant other.

Oh but the reward that Lazarus was given in return for his unselfishness was immeasurable. When God sends you, your one... nothing & nobody can destroy it! 👐🏾💪🏾💖

A Beautiful Love Story

I enjoyed this story. A guy that first love wasn't for him used him. Then God bring you a person that shows you what real love is all about. God brings you a person that feeds your body, mind and soul. A beautiful love story.

Amazing story of healing past pain. Reminder that being in love is magical and necessary opposed to just loving a person.

What an amazing love story! Laz had a love that most women would die for and Jamie truly damaged his whole soul. I loved how his mom was so real and road so hard for her son and then to find a woman to do the same was just what he needed. Jamie’s karma was not hard enough for me but that’s ok as long as Laz got the love he deserved. I loved how hard Kiana loved him and was walk away from her family for him. Their love story was just beautiful. This story was intense sexually and just down right HOT🔥Lastly, I enjoyed knowing that Sydney Taylor was the pro bono attorney😊 As always, Monica did her thang!!!!

I am glad they both waited on God to bring them real love, people really should beware you can love a person but not be in love with them protect your heart out here.

Perfect match

I enjoyed this listen. Monica Walters is one of my favorite writers and this one did not disappoint. Laz wasn’t your typical book Alpha male he is strong but broke and a gentle pure soul and as you know the wrong person will take advantage of that. He met Kiana at the perfect time despite the age difference they were perfect for each other. Laz’s mother was a whole trip she cracked me up but she is a real rider for her son.
I definitely recommend this book.
