Publisher's summary

Acclaimed author Michael Grant’s globally best-selling Gone series continues with Villain, where old foes return and new ones rise, with action-packed scenes, gory battles, and plot twists that will leave listeners scrambling for more.

It’s been four years since the events of Gone. The Perdido Beach dome is down, but the horrors within have spread. The alien virus-infested rock that created the FAYZ is creating monsters - monsters that walk the cities and countryside, terrorizing all.

There are tanks in the street and predator drones in the sky, doomed efforts to stop the disintegration of civilization. Into this chaos comes a villain with the power to control anyone with just the sound of his voice. Dillon Poe wanted to be a comedian once...but everyone made fun of him. Dillon the loser. Dillon the freak. Now he’s sending thousands to their death. Who’s laughing now?

The only people who can stop a superpowered villain are superpowered heroes. Dekka, Shade, Cruz, Malik, Armo, and a new mutant with unmatched powers are all that stand in Dillon’s way. But when the lines begin to blur between hero and villain - some begin to wonder who’s really the monster.

Enjoyable, but I miss the older characters.

I love Michael Grant and his original GONE series, however I do miss Sam, Astrid, Lana, etc.. This 3 part series that follows GONE is great, good twist to keep the story going but I would have preferred to keep more of the original characters in this story.
I can't wait to read the next one and see how it wraps everything back up. I would recommend speeding the narration up to at least 1.3 as well.

I want Sam to get powers

I hate how they are putting Sam on the sideline. I don't like how they barely mentioned them.

It was an okay book.

Not as good as the books that took place in the dome. I was a little disappointed.

really good story, ruined by a horrible narrator.

I love the gone series, Michael Grant is a pretty author, but Amanda Dolan is terrible at telling a story, she just doesn't do the characters right, and she talks so fast that I had to slow audible down to 90% speed to actually process what's going on.
