How Corporate Greed, Biased Science, and Coercive Government Threaten Our Human Rights, Our Health, and Our Children

National polls show that Americans are increasingly concerned about vaccine safety and the right to make individual, informed choices together with their healthcare practitioners. Vaccine Epidemic focuses on the searing debate surrounding individual and parental vaccination choice in the United States. Featuring more than 20 experts from the fields of ethics, law, science, medicine, business, and history, Vaccine Epidemic urgently calls for reform. It is the essential handbook for the vaccination choice movement and required reading for all people contemplating vaccination for themselves and their children.

Louise Kuo Habakus and Mary Holland edit and introduce a diverse array of interrelated topics concerning the explosive vaccine controversy, including:

  • The human right to vaccination choice
  • The ethics and constitutionality of vaccination mandates
  • Personal narratives of parents, children, and soldiers who have suffered vaccine injury
  • Vaccine safety science and evidence-based medicine
  • Corrupting conflicts of interest in the national vaccine program
  • What should parents do? A review of eight advice books on vaccines that span the gamut.

Very thorough

This was one of the most thorough things I heard about vaccines yet. This is such a hot topic but I have yet to hear a truly legitimate argument in favor of vaccines other than the "herd immunity" and "proven safe and effective" knee jerk reactions that the mainstream media and medical schools promote. When I asked my pediatrician about vaccinations she told me to make sure I get my information for credible sources. When I asked her for some sources to see unbiased studies that they are safe and effective she was obviously not used to anyone asking this question as she tripped up on her words and had to stop and think. Her response was "I only go to the CDC's website". If the FDA and nearly every other government "protection" agency can be infiltrated by council members who's only concern is to push corporate interests, why would the CDC be any different? Anyway, back to the audio book, The only chapter I didn't like was the one talking about god and Christianity as I failed to see how it helped their case for anyone who is not a Christian. I did appreciate how they kept saying this is not an "anti-vax" book. It is a "pro vaccination choice" book. In order to support vaccines I want proof they are safe and not just take the CDC and mainstream medias word for it. This is a very big deal and I don't know why so many people I know won't even question the almost mandatory vaccine schedule and what we are putting into our bodies. I would recommend this book to anyone questioning vaccine safety.

Absolute Joke

I came to try and understand the point of view of a pro-choice advocate and I left being ever more convinced that there is absolutely no reasonable basis for not vaccinating your children. The authors and sources behind the book are pseudo-scientists. Repeatedly making claims about the lack of evidence and lack of data while simultaneously placing Andrew Wakefield on a pedestal for literally conducting a "study" at a birthday party with 12 participants. This book is a joke.

To summarize the book: More research needs to be done to understand the safety of vaccines. ok. The problem is that this book ignores the enormous amount of research that HAS been done by claiming that said research was bias due to conflicts of interest with big government or private industry. Ok, so if research needs funding and they can't get it from public or private funds, where do you suppose to get it from?

The book plays on the fear of parents for their children and tells individual circumstantial stories rather than hard evidence and data.

Some samples of my favorite parts:

Comparing the CDC to the Nazis
"Vaccine Holocaust"

"I prefer that my children get measles naturally than get a vaccine"

Andrew Wakefield ("Scientist"): "Trust your instincts above all else"

Enlightening, shocking and sad

This is a must read for every present/future parent.
Healthy kids turning autistic over night. Healthy air Force pilots becoming deathly ill after receiving anthrax vaccines. A mother becoming paralyzed after receiving the flu vaccine.
but most doctors are so indoctrinated and will not bother to ask questions, do the research or simply look at the public data. Research before you bash antivaxxers. If you have questions, this is the place to start with.

Vaccines Have No Business Being Inside Of A Human.

Vaccines Have No Business Being Inside Of A Human.
They are toxic and cause downstream illnesses.
That is a proven fact.

Curious

If there is no verifiable science showing safety of vaccines, how have they been so successful in getting it to the masses? Makes you uneasy with Main Street support. Book was great in opening the dialogue. Great read.

A must read for every parent or a recipient of vaccines

This book lays out in extensive and comprehensive detail what’s going on in the vaccine industry. It is neither for nor against vaccines but once you hear the data laid bare, you will have the information you need to form your own decisions regarding whether to vaccinate or not and when it’s worth the risk and when it isn’t.

enlightening

This book has given me a more balanced view of vaccines, their usefulness and limitations, along with their risks and ways to reduce possible adverse affects.
The human rights regarding vaccines area was a new concept for me and I am grateful for the information and views this book has given me to consider.

Very comprehensive.

As a chiropractic physician, I'm trained to think outside the box. To look at the human body in a different way and treat accordingly. This book stands as a testimony to all those who have been given the crazy look by medical professionals who can't see the big picture. I'm not a zealot when it comes to anti vaccinations, but sure as hell stand my ground when asked why my child wasn't. A big thank you to the authors for empowering my stance on this sensitive subject

Helps clarify science from fiction

Covers a broad range of topics in good detail. I found it valuable in helping to clarify what is, and importantly, what isn't yet understood as the result of scientific enquiry.
