A wonderful mafia story!

Okay, to start I was a little wary of this audiobook as I’ve already read the book and loved it loads but I also know that the story is told from two POVs. However, only one narrator is listed and one unknown to me at that. Needless to say this was my first listen from narrator Amy Deuchler. It took some getting used to but I did warm up to her style of narration. Her pacing was a little slow for me but I can speed it up some so that was not a big deal. Otherwise I thought she did well with all the different characters. Her voices were distinct enough for each character and that made it easy to follow the story.

The story:
I love this story! I’ve been a long time fan of Lucy Monroe and I’m so glad she’s writing mafia stories now too. The dialogue between her characters are always fun to read. She’s able to convey so much emotions - love, hate, disappointment, etc. just from these dialogues. Here we have the mafia don, Severu and Catalina, who ended up married to each other due to a turn of events not of their making. However, as it turns out, it’s not an unwanted marriage for either party. Severu is powerful and a very decisive man. He’s brutal and in his own way quite romantic. Catalina has a strong personality and super smart and that makes her a great complement to Severu. The sexy times between these two are HOT AF and their conversations are fun to read. Also, a lot of the side characters, especially Severu’s family are all likable and I’m glad they’re not the typical scheming and hateful family members that are so present in a lot of other stories.

Mafia romance

I received this Audiobook as an ARC. I deeply appreciate the author sending this audiobook. This is a Mafia Romance book, which is up my alley , because I love mafia romance books. I enjoyed this book a lot. The plot was really good. I felt the connection with the FMC throughout the book. The way she felt, I felt which had my emotions all over the place. Please don’t miss out on this book, it’s totally worth it. Now the narration was good but I did catch two errors but they where small not really noticeable so it’s wasn’t such a big deal. The narrator voice is beautiful and her male voice is spectacular. I was mind blown on how good she did the male voice. I definitely recommend this audiobook though, the story is so delicious.

This is one of those audio books that you will want to hear again and again! Fantastic world building, great narration, and the quality of the story is amazing. Loved it!

Wow wow wow

An amazing spectacular story. Catalina and Severa discover their day is not going as they expected. Catalina finds herself once again her father’s punching bag and now the unexpected bride to wed her sister, Carlotta’s fiancé, Severa. Severa, the mafia Don finds himself getting married to his fiancé’s sister, Catalina. Carlotta ran off and left Catalina to face the music. The chemistry between Catalina and Severa is off the charts. Catalina has very poor self esteem and wants to believe that Severa wants her for her and not just for a sexual release. Watching their relationship grow and Catalina come into her own as both a confident beautiful woman and the mafia queen is inspiring. It’s also thrilling to see how much Catalina’s intelligence and insightfulness is recognized by Severa and his brother. It’s so easy to become obsessed with this book and stay up all night to finish it!!!!

I loved this book!

When Catalina's sister runs off right before she is supposed to marry a Mafia Don, Catalina is forced by her father to take her sister's place. Little does she know that her new husband, Severu, is attracted to her more than he ever was her sister.

This book hits a lot of the typical beats of an arranged-mafia-marriage, and I am absolutely not mad about that. Catalina is a sympathetic protagonist, and Severu is a great compliment to her. They are both strong in their own ways, while also needing the other in ways they are not even aware of. It is wonderful to watch them get to know each other in such tumultuous circumstances. I am glad they got their happy ending. (And, without spoiling the climactic twist, I will say that I cried while reading the ebook months ago, and I cried harder while listening to the audiobook. )

Amy Deuchler did a wonderful job with the narration. I often forgot that there was only one narrator because she voiced each character so uniquely.

Lucy Monroe does it again!

I love a good Mafia book, and this did not disappoint. Catalina is a smart, strong but introvert woman who flourished when she married Severu, and he is the possessive, arrogant Don that complements her. Their chemistry is instantaneous and very hot. Such a great Audiobook, narrator did amazing as she totally pulled you in the story.

Ahhh! Well done!

As I told Ms Monroe, I am very new to audiobooks and wasn’t sure how I’d like it with one narrator. However, I loved it! I think it was super well done and I loooooove this series.
I love the push and pull between Catalina and Severu.
I do hope Miceli will get his own story about his arranged marriage.

Great Read

This was my first time listening to this author. I really enjoyed this audiobook performed well by Amy Deuchler. I love strong female leads and Catalina is definitely tough, independent and intelligent. She possesses the qualities needed for a Don's wife. It would be great to have duet or dual narrators for these books.

A page turner that trills, chills and tempts. Between the never-ending twists and the heartbreaking turns, Urgent Vows is a can't put down rollercoaster ride.

The stroy!

I had read the Urgent Vow and instantly was drawn in. Finding the title as an audio was perfect. Hope the others in series are added.
