Martha of Bethany is no stranger to adversity. That we are all human and even in His presence, due to the pressures of life, we experience doubt. Give ourselves grace and be thankful He bore it all, already, just because of love.

Love of Jesus

My heart is full and I feel hope, faith and relief from strain. A story of not just human love, but that of our God and Father. I admire Martha’s strength and reading about her encouraged me to strive to be mindful of my own strifes to overcome. To not worry so much. To let the pain go.

I loved this book and how Mary and Martha were portrayed. Beautiful women of God.

A great story!

We know little of the background of Mary and Martha and Lazarus, other than Martha was a hard worker, Mary was not interested in household duties and Lazarus was raised from the dead. This book gives them so much more life and personality and interesting details!

It was beautifully narrated story about Mary, Martha, and Lazarus from John 11:38. The novel brought this historical fiction to life. It was inspiring.

I thought the story presented an interesting and plausible scenario for the first half but by the end I almost turned it off.
One big turn off was how it ended trying to mix a love story with Jesus last week on earth, including the crucifixion -

Outstanding book and narration. Great details. This is a book I will listen to again. Looking forward to the next release. An auto pre order author for me. Highly recommend.

Fresh light on familiar story

I really enjoyed this new illumination of Martha’s story. I realize we don’t know too much about Martha from scripture, leaving the author much room to imagine and extrapolate; but I have always related to this faithful, hardworking woman and was thrilled to theorize the motivations behind her action and get a deeper view of her character and possible life. The rich relationships between Martha and Her siblings, surrounding characters and Jesus himself were intriguing, emotionally tugging and in the end encouraging and faith-building. Wonderful book, hard to put down. Excellent reader, too!

Beautiful story and biblically accurate. Helped me think about all that the characters must have gone through in life.

I loved this story. It was delightful to see Martha and Mary and Lazarus in a new light. Beautifully written and I will no doubt read more by this author.
