Story
Sandy Kinsolving's once-glittering life hangs by a thread; his future depends on his wife's inheritance and whether or not she's about to throw him out on his ear. What he wouldn't give for a solution to his money and marriage problems. If this were an Alfred Hitchcock movie, the solution would be obvious. Enter a stranger with wife problems of his own, who offers a violent - and mutually advantageous - proposal. Then, in the time it takes to whisper a word, Kinsolving's normal life ends.

But they were five inseparable high school friends with something incredible in common: an unwavering resolve to look after each other no matter what hell life threw at them. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?

A wonderful continuation of the Stone Barrington series
Brett Battles is the perfect choice to continue the Stuart Wood legacy. A great story in the style we Stuart Wood fans have come to enjoy and honor. I look forward to many more.

Great Job Continuing the Adventures of Stone Barrington
Classic story. Stone is targeted by unsavory characters but he and Dino prevail.
Sad that Stuart is no longer with us but great that fantasy lives on.

Quirky storyline with familiar, comfortable characters
I like how every character lends a clue or two that all come together in the end

Read Like The Older Books
Entertaining book, read like the older S Woods books. I thought several times this author is better than S Wood. Story more realistic & enjoyable than the books written later in Wood’s career. I look forward to more books by this author. Great job‼️

Always enjoy Stone Barrington
It's amazing how Stone, Dino, and Monica's discoveries lead to learning of the plot and masterminding a clever trap leading the arrest of the culprit. As always a very outstanding novel by Stuart Woods. Enjoyed every minute of it.

Didn’t miss a step
Brett Battles has continued perfectly from Stuart Woods the Stone Barrington series. And we continue to need Tony Robert’s to provide the excellent narration.
