Francine Rivers fills in the gaps of the Biblical story while stiring in an imaginative never told love story.

The narration was good.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Shockingly Hard to Put down

I’m going to be honest. My first thought before choosing to read this book was why do I want to read a book about a whore in the Bible? But, I decided to read anyway. I was shocked when I felt so much compassion, understanding and forgiveness for Bathsheba. I would recommend this book to any person Christian or not but especially for people that attend church regularly. Often times people visit churches and feel the way Bathsheba felt as if they have no hope for repentance. This goes against everything that God intended. Man condemns but got off is the gift of forgiveness and repentance. This is a good read.

Never Gets Old

The story of David and Bathsheba never gets old. It applies as much today as it did then. I love the way Fracine Rivers writes its as though you are right there, all the while telling the story God wanted you to hear. The narrator did a great job as well switching her voice between each character, not missing a beat.

Deeper depths of a known story!

This book shows that there are deeper depths of each life. I enjoyed this book greatly.

Hard to accept

I had a hard time with the embellishments to the true story. The narrator was very hard to listen to. The speeding up of her text for some characters to differentiate characters was had to understand. I will not listen to another book with this same narrator.

One left in the Series

This was not my favorite book from the series ...but, it was in line with setting up the lineage of our Christ savior. Also it shows me of God's love and forgiveness.

Need more meat to the story

The book was too short. Was looking for more detail. And maybe some more action.
