It's the most dangerous case of Will Trent's career. He knows this from the moment he sets foot in the abandoned Atlanta warehouse where a body lies on the floor - the body of an ex-cop. Bloody footprints leading away from the scene reveal that another victim, evidently a woman, was carried away and has vanished into thin air. And, worst of all, the warehouse belongs to the city's biggest and most high-profile athlete - a local hero protected by the world's most expensive lawyers.

Wrong Narrator
I should have checked the narrator having been used to Jennifer Woodward, I could not understand the voices and did not know the characters the way Penelope Rawlins read this. What happened to Will Trent's voice, he has turned into a zombie. If you are working through the Karin Slaughter books keep to the same narrator. Good story but spoiled for me

I'm a Karen Slaughter fan, and this did not disappoint me! Held my attention from beginning to end. The narrator was good and I wouldn't think twice about listening to another book read by her. I listen to a lot of audiobooks and this one was one of the best for a long time.

The importance of a good speaker
I have always loved this author and I am sure this book is just as good as the others, however the narrator seems to believe that to read the male words she has to make this really deep voice. it makes the words difficult to understand and has completely spoiled the beginning of the story for me. I am trying to persevere with this book because the author is usually so good but I am unsure I will be able to cope with this narrator.
I have scored the book low only because It is so difficult to get into it with this narrator.

Karin did it again
If you could sum up Unseen in three words, what would they be?
Addictive, hard hitting, passionate!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Unseen?
I won't say I think it will spoil the book....
Which character – as performed by Penelope Rawlins – was your favourite?
Will, I loved his vulnerability....
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes definitely but I had to listen to it on the way to and from work. I was having terrible withdrawal symptoms i so listened to it at home at well just to see what happened next!
Any additional comments?
Loved this installment of the developing relationship between Will and Sarah can't wait for the next book in this series.

Slow story, slow delivery
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
The book would have been better if it had been half the length and got to the point without the continual rehashing of ideas.
What didn’t you like about Penelope Rawlins’s performance?
Really slow delivery, awful voices.
You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?
No
Any additional comments?
I have liked most of the other books by Karin Slaughter. The last one was a bit odd but this one was just tedious.

Ordinary
I have enjoyed the Karin Slaughter books and looked forward to the next in the series eagerly. Whilst it carried on with the lives of the same characters I found the plot quite ordinary and it failed to grip me or hold my attention in the same way as the previous novels.
I was disappointed by the female narrator who's 'male voices' just annoyed me and distracted further from the story. Shame.

traumatised by the narrator
the narrator was so bad I am still traumatised. I usually download a book straight after one finishes but after this massacre I decided I need to lay off the audio books. I can't believe they let this happen. I am sure that the story was good as I have loved Karin slaughters books. I pray never to come across such narration ever again. I need a further 2 weeks off audio books to regain my balance. sorry for being so dramatic but I fear it is worse than I have posted.

Great story but ruined by narration
I absolutely love Karin Slaughter's books and this was no exception. I especially enjoyed the reintroduction of Lena Adams character however the narration was all wrong and extremely off-putting. I cannot begin to imagine who thought Penelope Rawlins was right for this book. I don't doubt her ability as an narrator but for these characters it was a major fail. It became so unbearable that I actually had to buy an alternative narration (by Kathleen Early) elsewhere.

Dreadful Narration
Got a small way into this , tried to persevere but I just can't listen to any more. Love the rest of the books narrated by Jennifer woodward. But the change of narrator has spoilt this for me. She makes all the women sound one dimensional and the men sound like adolescents whose voice has just broken. Completely detracts from the story as I can't follow it because of the dreadful narrative. She might as well be reading the phone book. So disappointed.

The Narrator made it unbearable.
I was really looking forward to this, and even though other reviews said the narrator was poor. I still have it a try.
Worst idea ever. I couldn't get past her horrible male voice. It's just - bad.
Had to return the book as I could not stand it.
Please please someone get the other narrator who read the previous Will Trent books to read this one!

Trust the reviews - the narration is terrible!
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I have bought all of Karin Slaughter's audiobooks and have been enthralled with Sarah's life after her husband died. They are great books to listen to when running BUT jeez, the narrator on this one is terribly off putting. Her characters change tone and accent half way through a conversation and her deep voice is distracting - and just terrible.
What a shame. All I can think of when I'm listening is how did this get released.
Any additional comments?
Love the series and the characterisations. The plots are all different and keep me interested. Disappointed with this one - it shouldn't have been released in it's current format.

This is such a disappointment. I love this series & was really looking forward to this one. The narrator is a joke. Did anyone even listen to her before releasing this on audible. It’s embarrassing the way she tries to speak in character. The males sound like they have severe problems & the women all sound the same. I will never listen to another book narrated by this person. struggled to finish this one. ive loved all the others but the narrator was horrible. She struggled with her voice changes for the characters and repeatedly change character voices mutliplte times. some to the point where all characters sounded the same, then suddenly the same character sounded entirely different. was a bit frustrating. i persisted because ive thoroughly enjoyed this book series, in the future i will be avoiding anthing read by this particular narrator.
