Good set of strange fantasy stories!

Unreal Encounters by Milo James Fowler is an audible book I won from the author's newsletter! The book has 40 short stories of weird encounters, and some are stranger than others! Lol! There were a variety of narrators performing the stories.
My favorite was about a special girl that kept her bangs long to cover her eyes in school. She wore mirrored sunglasses out of class. She was bullied a lot but did have one male friend.
I won't tell you what happened but it was great!
I would rate some of the stories a 3 star and some 5 stars. The majority were 4 stars. A good variety of stories! This is for the true fantasy geek!

Something for everybody!

As always commenting on a bundle of stories is not easy.
This collections has so many that you can really lost count. I already knew a couple of them.
Anyway, the themes range from murder, dystopian, sci-fi, Twilight Zone style, alien, just to name a few.
I love them more when they have suspense and action (or a surprising ending) and less when is more a narrated type of story.
Still, there is plenty for everybody tastes, even lengthwise.
The only thing common to all the stories is the narration - fantastic in every case.
This book is a must for any of Milo's fan.

Something for everyone

With 40 short stories you really can find something for every taste.

I found them very fresh and different.

Especially liked the alternate history about JFK in Dallas.

Performance was very well done.

This was an audiobook and I love to listen to audio books when I’m on the road, so I’m sure I’ll use it again and again.

Funny

I won an audio version of this book in a Librarything giveaway. So anyways, I loved how there were a variety of readers. With so many voices reading different stories, it kept me interested. Full disclosure, I love comedy and horror but sci fi not so much. But I still enjoyed these stories. There was a scene ( and I can't remember it word for word) but it was pretty much like 'I have a hacksaw and now I'm gonna cut off your head'.... I had my headphones on and literally loled. My hubby looked at me like I was crazy, but I love dark humor like that. Anyways, I'm giving this book 4 stars. Some of the stories just weren't for me, but I loved other stories. So on average, it's a4 star book to me

Excellent!

Thoroughly enjoyed all the different encounters throughout the book! Some a bit more mind blowing depending on the story but all in all a great collection and great book to listen to!

A few cheesy, "sci-fi", stories.

A few cheesy, "sci-fi", stories. Some Twilight Zone styled, "techno political" stories, that were tedious.
