Good story

Cian meets Skyler in a tense situation where things aren’t as they seem. They have an attraction that neither can deny, even though they try. I enjoyed this story. I also listened to the audio where the narrators did a great job at bringing the story to life.

𝗖𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿 is on a secret and very dangerous mission when he meets a homeless Skylar. She was not supposed to witness his dealings, but she did, and now she’s an unexpected complication that he wants to protect and keep for himself.

I didn’t expect this story to be so sweet, but what can I expect from Melanie Moreland if not a heartwarming story that will also make me laugh and fall in love with the characters. Skylar's feisty personality and Cian's protective nature made for a perfect match. The dual narration by 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗲 and 𝗠𝗮𝘅𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹 was flawless. Both narrators know how to perfectly bring Melanie’s characters to life. They add to the story every single time!

𝗜𝗳 you want a feel-good story with a touch of suspense, you gotta listen to this story!

Undercover grump meets a sassy Homeless woman

Melanie’s writing captures you from scene one and holds on tight throughout the entire story! This book was such an easy, quick read while still giving me closure alongside so many action-packed scenes!

Skylar is homeless and finds a “warm” place to sleep in a warehouse under cardboard boxes. She’s woken up by yelling and fighting nearby. Trying to stay hidden while also figuring out what’s happening, she ends up witnessing a murder. Afterwards, the killer demands she come out. Panicking, she tries to run but is quickly taken. When she wakes up, she finds herself locked in a room where she meets Cian. Terrified for her safety, she still manages to talk back to him, and their banter was SO good.

Cian is undercover and working to take down the criminal responsible for his father’s death. He is absolutely the type of MMC you’d want protecting you, and over time Skylar realizes that too.

This book had so many twists and turns, and I loved every second of it! And John Lane and Maxine Mitchell were phenomenal as the audiobook narrators, they truly brought the story to life.

I did not enjoy this story as much. love the narrators but the story was a little lame for me. this is one of my favorite authors. this story just didn't do it for me.

Danger, Growth, And Romance

The story blends suspense and romance as Cian, driven by revenge, crosses paths with Skylar, a strong and resilient woman. Their relationship starts with tension but धीरे develops into something deeper. Skylar’s wit and how she challenges Cian’s dark nature was quite enjoyable. The audiobook made their emotional journey even more engaging. This story is a gripping, character-driven listen with a satisfying mix of danger, growth, and romance.
