Much better than I anticipated.

I love this audiobook. I've never had much of an interest in government, but I believe I'll listen to this over and over. Interesting and well done.

Very informative, thorough and opinionated

This book was written by a barrister from London who also teaches at Cambridge and then other places. The author does a good job of presenting most arguments and then he will often throw in his two shillings which you can take or leave since you paid for the book. I'll probably listen to it again in parts because there is so much history and trivia scattered throughout.

Not an Easy Listen; But Do It Anyway.

If you want to be inciteful and know what you are talking about when you comment on the running of these United States, this would be a good place to start your learning. The U.S. Constitution for Dummies, 2nd Edition, written and read by Dr. Michael Arnheim.

It does not seem to me, but I am speaking from an anecdotal perspective, this nation has taught its constituents civics. Test yourself out right here and now, define civics. How can we expect the magnificence of our democracy to continue if a large portion of us do not understand what provides us with our unique freedom?

This is not an exciting book. It is though, rather complete in presenting the structure of the Constitution, the history as to why it was so created, think through of how each section works, and the author’s comment on its history, effect, and needed correction. Aside: I do not often agree with the author. This book should be read by each of you who wonder about our liberty and want to be a better citizen. Not an Easy Listen; But Do It Anyway.

95% NOT about the constitution

not only does the author repeat himself A LOT but most of this book isn't about the constitution at all but a ton of court cases that deal with the constitution

well told from the author himself.

I listened to this entirely over 3 days and probably will again soon. The narrator is also the author so I feel he describes is intent very well.

Concise yet Detailed

This was a great listen. I already had a decent understanding, but this book expanded my knowledge and taught me many things. Great information presented in a unembellished way. Dr. Arnheim intrigues me, and I will most likely look into his other works.

Fundamentally Informative

The book was interesting, but long winded. The narrator/author also digressed rather frequently. I got what I wanted from the book, but would have appreciated something more to the point.

Very enjoyable review (or primer for beginners)

I took my time with this one. and I'm pleasantly surprised to have gone over this material after not thinking about it so deeply for so many years. There's definitely a lot of value in making sure you're being a responsible citizen by keeping up with your civics. If you don't think about it for a while, you'll likely forget it. This is an excellent book to help solve that problem.

One of the best!

From the beginning I noticed that the narrator seem to know very well what he was reading until I realized that it was the author himself the narrator! He seems to be more talking to you than reading it. Relaxing, scholar voice in a book with treasuries everywhere to be found, not only about the constitution but also about American history, American law history and politics. Dr. Arnheim is surely well-versed with the American constitution and law in general. Great book! Great author!!!
