The gripping second installment of the Pelican Harbor series from USA Today best-selling author Colleen Coble! Police Chief Jane Hardy has only just been reunited with her long-lost son when she learns of an impending terror attack that threatens everything she holds dear.

A lie changed her world. Police Chief Jane Hardy is still reeling from the scandal that rocked her small-town department just as she took over for her retired father - the man who wrecked her life with one little lie. Now she’s finally been reunited with her presumed-dead 15-year-old son, Will, and his father, documentarian Reid Dixon.

When a murder aboard the Gulf Coast oil platform Zeus exposes an environmental terrorist’s plot to flood Mobile Bay with crude oil, Jane and Reid must put their feelings for each other aside and work together to prevent the looming sabotage.

When the terrorist puts Will’s life on the line, protecting him could be the common ground Jane and Reid need...until ghosts from the past threaten to ruin their fragile relationship for good.

Jane has plenty of reasons to run. But what if she stays?

Narrator's voice is pleasant but sometimes difficult to differentiate speakers.
#2 was less satisfying than #1 because the details of the attack are sketchy and some situations are simply unrealistic. Being able to leave a hospital without being asked to sign an AMA form? No way. Caught in a bear trap and not given crutches? Right. Still, no foul language. Characters believe in the existence of God but faith is not on prominent display.

Enjoyed the story, the characters and the narrator. Look forward to the last one in the series.

Great story

I enjoyed the plots that crossed crossed onto one. I remember the oil spill and it was nice to dedicate a book to the importance of ocean preservation.

I like the narrators voice, for the most part. Sometimes it would be helpful for her to take a breath between time frames so we know time has passed.

Some of the facts in this one were driving me crazy. Like the passcode to Charles’s fortress could have easily be changed when Elizabeth moved out. And the ease of an ER patient having free roaming access to an ICU patient, as well as coincidentally having the same physician. But I live in a bigger city so perhaps that works in small town hospitals.

Overall, I’m looking forward to book three in the series.

Nice three-part story

"two Reasons to Run" is another exciting thriller written by Colleen Coble and Narrated well by Devon O'Day. I've fallen in love with the characters of Pelican Bay and really enjoyed trying to figure out 'who dun it ' I look forward to listening to more stories in this series as well as others written by Colleen Coble.

Another Great one

I love the book but to be honest I’m just ready for it to be over. I’m gonna read the third book just because I don’t want to quit in the middle but really I feel like it’s drug on too long.

Love it but…

I liked the twists in the story line. It’s the best of Colleen’s work to this point. I like the search of God in the characters lives. I didn’t like how Jane was so wishy washy. She forgave and then something would happen and she didn’t just take one step back but seemed to digress back to square one.

Being able to find God after leaving the horrors of a cult

Exciting sequel to One Little Lie. Narrator was really good. Good book; just not great.

Book Two In Pelican Harbor Series

The storyline was good. It kept a decent pace. About the same as first novel in series. This narrator was a bit annoying. Not her voice in general but how she portrays the man character Jane. She makes her sound like she’s in distress and can’t handle herself which is the exact opposite of what the author writes her character. She sounds weak and I need of help (damsel in distress type of tone) instead of a police chief with confidence and authority.

Great storyline. Not so great narration.

I love this book and the first one! I can’t wait for the third book in the series to be released!

Great romantic suspense!

The author has a good story in most cases, She pushes Christianity way too much. As a former Christian and now I just consider myself a Jesus follower. This is not the way to go about teaching people about Christ. You’re seriously just turning people off. Live as Christ did. Love ALL! Don’t push the Christian AGENDA.

The narrator did a great job, except for the main character . She makes the female cop seem whiny and ridiculous.
