Publisher's Summary

Megan

How in the hell did I end up here - on a heavily wooded road in the middle of a racist county - all alone, with nothing but my twisted mind for protection?

After convincing the August Knights Motorcycle Club to allow me to work off a debt my sister owed them, I found myself in the middle of madness and mayhem.

I should've known that this was what life inside this dangerous club would be like, right?

Aaron

How the hell did I end up here? I was face-to-face and chest-to-chest with the one woman I was forbidden to touch. Strange, sexy, inexplicably delicious, and just downright twisted events started to unfold when I meet Megan.

I can't figure her out, but there is one thing she can't hide: her attraction to me. When Megan wiggles her way into my life, I discover that her quiet, good-girl persona is a cloak she uses to hide the twisted mind she harbors. A mind just as bent as mine.

Warning: This book is an interracial romance that contains strong violence and sexual content and is intended for adults (open-minded adults). If you are easily offended or squeamish about harsh or demeaning language, murder, and violence, this audiobook is not for you.

Good story HORRIBLE female narrator

I enjoyed the story but the female narrator was just awful. I had to pause the book several times because she was getting in my nerves. I won't confine this series if she is the narrator.

Horrible female narrator

Should have let the male do the whole book. Ms Laurel’s male voice was absolutely atrocious

Good, but female narration AWFUL❗

Didn't like the female narrator. She sounded like someone's mother and older. She sounds more like a sexy, confident, sultry diva, a player pleased with herself.

The author didn't give the female narrator much to work with. All she has Megan talk about is how hot the sex is with Aaron, how wet she gets and how hard he is. Just the crass stuff. She doesn't give Megan any depth. Like the trauma of her past that has her on the run or her trust issues. She doesn't show her vulnerability or the depths of her feelings for Aaron and the fear of letting her guard down.

Actually the male narrator does better doing both characters. The female narrator's dialogue is just smutty and detracts and lowers the quality of this romance.

great story but did not like the naration

the story was exciting and I immediately got the next book to find out what happens next. however I really didn't like the performance. the male narrator sounded too robotic and the female narrator did not sound like what was described in the book. She sounded too much like a news cast reporter ehich made me view Megan differently than the sexy and intoxicating woman that was described in the book.

Part action/adventure story, part romance

I was entertained by this story. I'm new to interracial romance novels but not romance novels. I wasn't sure on what I had expected but wanted to be "sold" on the story so I remained open to its concept. One has to be prepared to deal with some limited use the "N" word and the some prejudices about race and women in general due to the mindset of some the characters in the first few chapters but not in the later ones. But this really can't be avoided if it's going to have any literary integrity about some of the history in this country. I wouldn't let this dissuade you from reading the book.

I'm a biracial woman but when it comes to romance, everything really has been black and white. It interested me to notice how the author, Keta, gave the reader a glimpse into how a Caucasian man could notice and appreciate an African American woman's intrinsically beautiful features. The contrast between the way she viewed herself and the way he saw her might cause one to wonder if we were speaking of the same person, but that just adds to the layers of the story. I'd say that this starts out a story that builds into a romance story after she meets Aaron. It kept me waiting to see if this attraction was going to built into something that could not only actually work but redefine the way that we see traditional relationships. The potential is there but one would have to meander over to book 2 which is exactly what is sitting in my shopping cart.

I'm interested to see if they can and how will they seal the deal. I also would like to know what she is running from and if Aaron might be the one to help her out of her dilemma. On some complaints on the narrators voice. I can see their point but found that she made up for it when she played the male characters which being a female portraying a male with a Southern drawl, she performed well. You could easily determine the switch when she channeled them.
