Great story, plenty of twists

This audiobook captivated me from the start as it gets straight into the story without a load of slow, plodding build up before anything happens. The characters, good and bad, are believable and well written with enough detail to make them interesting but not so much that it slows the pace of the story. The length of the book and the pace is spot on and it kept me wanting to listen to the next chapter.
The only slight downside, in my opinion, was the narrator who, while she did an ok job, she does seem a little...um..."stilted". With a great narrator there's an easy flow to the reading, so much so that it's easy to forget someone is reading it to you. In this case though I found it less natural, as if reading one sentence at a time, no natural flow or rhythm. It didn't help that more than half the time it sounded to my ears as though she called the main character Birdie instead of Brody, but maybe that's just the strong Southern American accent playing tricks on me.

All in all though, an enjoyable read and one I'd definitely recommend.

I received a free copy of this audiobook and am writing this review voluntarily.

Who did it?

Twisted Fate
: Susan Mills Wilson

This is a clean cozy mystery, romance, that brings two opposites, with a friend in common, together . When Brody is accused of assaulting "their friend" and escapes house arrest to hunt down the real criminal. Lots of suspects to choose from.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed by Amanda Newcomb.

Impressive story - one would never guess

One can never guess the twists this story gets.
It all starts when a guy (the artist main character) is blamed for attacking a woman and leaving her in a coma.
We knows he is innocent but no one believes him. In this, a tornado hits his city and he has the chance to look for the killer himself. The victim best friend, a veterinarian, decides to help him and they have a suspect.
The story is, then, to find evidence, but when everyone is hiding secrets that can be really hard and dangerous.
I was a not very impressed by the beginning, but the 2nd half twists were really worth the wait.
The narration is very odd: so expressive in the dialogues (both male and female) but incredible robotic for the narration. Even so, one gets use to it and can enjoy the reading.

What would you do if arrested for crime you...

This story is about Brody, an artist who wakes to pounding on the door and being arrested for an assault of his friend The story unfolds as Brody tries to discover the truth as to who hurt his friend in order to clear his name. Some unexpected twists lend interest and keep the story moving. I felt the narration was well done. and accents appropriate for the locale of the story. I enjoyed the story and will look for additional books by this author.

Good Mystery to Read!

This is a terrific mystery! Well-written, believable characters I look forward to spending more time with, interesting twists. Thoroughly enjoyable! That said, read the book. Don't listen to the audio version, b/c the narrator came very close to ruining me for this very good story.
