Publisher's summary

A Wall Street Journal bestseller.

From New York Times bestselling author Susan Stoker comes a scorching Silverstone installment that finds a former military man racing to save the woman he loves as danger closes in on them both.

Former military man turned government assassin Kellan “Eagle” Trowbridge isn’t looking for love. He’d rather keep his head down at his cover job as an employee of Silverstone Towing. That all changes, however, when he meets Taylor Cardin.

Beautiful, smart, and witty Taylor instantly falls for the mysterious tow truck driver, who comforts her both in the aftermath of the car crash she sees firsthand and when the police dismiss her as a credible witness because of her prosopagnosia, or face blindness. Eagle, on the other hand, can remember every person he’s ever met - and the two counterparts forge an immediate connection. But someone else is just as intrigued by Taylor’s unique condition as Eagle is...and his intentions are downright deadly.

Soon, Eagle and Taylor are too caught up in each other to see the danger that’s approaching. But as time runs out, they’ll discover their love isn’t the only thing fighting to survive.

Good story, good narration

I really liked this book and the opportunity to learn more about prosopagnosia, which is the condition that Taylor had that made it so difficult for her to recognize faces. I adored the first half of the book, where you saw what kind of person Eagle was, as well as the rest of the Silverstone crew. I knew that they were great because I read book 3 in the series prior to reading this one.

The pure evil of the bad guy was a bit hard to take. The scenarios discussed by this book could be construed as triggers. I don't have any triggers and I cringed a lot. So let this serve as a warning. But these descriptions really set the stage as to why Taylor and Eagle (and the rest of the Silverstone crew) needed to really get control of the situation and fast.

I felt though that towards the end I was just waiting for the bad guy to strike and this story felt drawn out. I also didn't like that Taylor had such a weak sense of self, always questioning herself and why Eagle was with her. In the beginning, I understood her frame of mind, but as the story progressed it felt like she didn't actually go through any character growth through the rest of the story.

As a read and listen (love this!) I was able to listen to the audiobook, which was narrated by Lucy Rivers. She overall did really well although she has a weaker male voice which sounds like, well, a woman trying to affect a male voice! But it was a great way to experience this book.

Unique dangers & empathetic love story

Very unique conditions these two people have & a great opposites attract situation. I believe when you have a disability or condition it makes you more empathetic to others regardless their condition. The story had dangers, excitement, loving friendships and some sexy love making. Great narration by Lucy Rivers. Highly recommend this book.

Great book, story and characters!

I was really looking forward to Eagles book. He is such an interesting character and I wondered who the author would find for him. Enter Taylor..she fits him perfectly! I couldn’t imagine a better half for him. She fills in all his gaps and he does for her. How brilliant he and his friends are to cover her “face blindness”. Many of their conversations kept me enthralled because when they talked about different future situations together..she shot them down but Eagle came up with ways to accomplish and alleviate her issues. So lovely!

I listened Tor his on audio. Lucy Rivers did a wonderful job! I look forward to more.

This story is my favorite so far

I loved the uniqueness of the h’s disorder of not being able to recognize faces, even her own. The H is the opposite and remembers every face he’s ever seen. He uses that skill as a seal. But her condition is so interesting to me. Had no idea this was a real thing. I couldn’t put this one down. The suspense was good throughout w/ a serial killer always right there! 5 stars!

Another great edition to this series

I really enjoyed this addition to the series. Taylor's condition was something I'd heard about in crime drama shows and read about before but they usually lack to show the more vulnerable side of it. Taylor usually keeps to herself and I really liked that Eagle went out of his way to help her feel comfortable.

Great read

I really enjoyed this story! It was really good. I loved the dichotomous between Eagle and Taylor with one remembering everyone and one no one. This was done really well and I loved getting to see Taylor gain confidence when given the gift of real friends. So many people in her life just never took the time to truly care and understand what she had and dealt with and the fact that people got mad over it upset me as a reader. This story had plenty of twists and turns and the stalker aspect was written really well for this story line. I truly enjoyed this and loved getting to see the way that Eagle treated Taylor and the way his friends did the same type of things that a good person does for her. I’m excited for the next book in the series!
The narrator did a good job with the story. Sometimes felt a touch stiff but I could hear the emotion in the voice at times as well so definitely brought the story to life.
