Beautifully written

I grew up listening to Lionel’s music. His compassion and empathy that exudes thru his music also comes thru in this book. Interesting reflections and insights. Enjoyed listening to this so much.

Loved the book. Blair Underwood was outstanding! Lionel erred on the side of caution when discussing his relationships. Very respectful to the exes. I loved the way he described his writing process. Appreciated the way he shared his interactions and relationships with so many legends - especially Prince and Michael. Great book. Hated to see it end.

Kept My Attention

I typically prefer hearing the book read in the author's voice; however, Blair Underwood read the book so well that I got completely lost and forgot it wasn't Lionel reading. The book in written in a natural speaking tone, while being very entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

G.O.A.T.

I have always had Lionel Richie in my top ten, but after reading his memoir, he is officially moving up to my top five, maybe even top three. It is incredible to learn how a quiet, shy kid who once stayed in the background became a global icon. What really impressed me was the loyalty and love within his circle of childhood friends who have stayed by his side all these years. What a journey, what a legacy. Outstanding body of work, Mr. Richie.
