Listen to this true crime anthology and learn about 12 of the most shocking true crime cases in modern history. You will be glued to your device as you hear about high profile true crime murder cases, such as the murder of Laci Peterson, and the murder trial of actor Robert Blake, while learning about some lesser-known yet equally notorious murder trials. You will follow criminal investigations into cold murder cases that were once thought to be unsolvable, but through a combination of scientific advances, good police work, and some luck, homicide detectives were able to give the victims' families closure.
Although most of the cases profiled in this book are clearly true crime stories, one case, the story of the famous doctor Jack Kevorkian, concerns changing legal interpretations of what constitutes murder in the United States of America. Other cases profiled involve privileged individuals who had plenty of money, but resorted to murder out of greed and selfishness. You will also hear about one privileged woman, actress Dominque Dunne, who had her whole life in front of her, only to have it ended by a jealous lover who could not handle her success and privilege.
Listen to this book, if you dare, and learn about some of the most intriguing high profile crimes and true murder to happen in the last 100 years. You may want to share this book with a friend, though, because as intriguing as the cases are, they are also shocking and disturbing.

What made the experience of listening to True Crime Stories, Volume 5 the most enjoyable?
I am a True Crime reader from way back. Mostly dedicated one crime books, and there a lot of really good ones. I have mostly been disappointed with "anthology" style in this genre, too short, shallow, they don't give a sense of who the victims or perps are, and conclusions are often missing ...Jack Rosewood hits the sweet spot with his True Crime anthology series. All that is missing in other such books, he incorporates in succinct manner. You get a feel for the individuals, a brief on why the police focused in on the guilt of the criminal and the outcome of the court cases.
Who was your favorite character and why?
There were a lot of crimes, I wouldn't call any of the bad guys "favorites" though. The likes of Scott Peterson, the Menendez brothers could be on the top of my list to hate the most, if that counts as an answer to the question.Which scene was your favorite?
Not a scene per say, but the concise, thorough writing. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The finding of the victims especially Lacy Peterson and her unborn son.Any additional comments?
This listen flew by too quickly. I will most definitely look into other Audible books by this author.David L. White is a pretty terrific choice for his skill at bringing the stories to life. He added much to my enjoyment and attention to the book overall.
Thanks for the opportunity to review it!
This review copy audiobook was provided by the author at no cost. Which I can only assume was voluntary on their part. I am happy to give my honest review of it. I think I'm suppose to mention how reviewing this was voluntary on my part too

What made the experience of listening to True Crime Stories, Volume 5 the most enjoyable?
There wasn't one thing. Everything together made the experience great. The writing was smooth and flowed nicely, without dragging or seeming to stutter in places. It also made sense and was understandable yet intelligent. The narration was great. David L. White has a very pleasant voice to listen to. Also, the use of music cues underscoring the stories made the whole thing pop and really kept my attention and served its purpose perfectly.Who was your favorite character and why?
There were no "characters." But I was glad to hear more about the Laci Peterson murder as I have always been fascinated by that case and it was highlighted in this book.Have you listened to any of David L. White’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Alas, I have not. But I certainly will be listening to more in the future, as he is a fantastic narrator! He is one of the best I have heard. I would say he is one of the top 2 male narrators as far as talent, inflection, pronunciation, tone, timing, etc... I highly recommend listening to him.Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were several. But I'm not going to give away any spoilers. That's just wrong.Any additional comments?
I definitely recommend this book for any fans of true crime. I only wish it was longer. Under 4 hours is a crying shame.I was given a copy of this book by the author at no charge in exchange for a fair, honest, and unbiased review.

I received this audiobook for free in exchange for an honest review. This was a very good anthology detailing crimes concerning Susan Schwarz, Victor Licata, Scott Peterson, Rae Carruth, Jack Kevorkian, the Menedez Brothers, the Wilson Family, Robert Blake, Helen Sullivan, Ricky Hart/Steven Goff, Dominique Dunne and Eva Dugan. They were all very interesting, and despite some of them not being all together known, Rosewood brings together interesting little tidbits from the cases; the importance of the murder victim playing cards in Susan Schwartz's case, the first female execution punishment in the state of Arizona in Eva Dugan's case, the Lacey and Connor Law that developed from the aftermath of the Scott Peterson case.
Overall, it was very interesting and Rosewood has done a fantastic job with this anthology. The narrator chosen, David White, is brilliant and has the perfect voice for this series. The transition music is also suitably creepy.

I am a true crime junky the human mind as always had a hold on me from the way people think they can get away with things to how they plan it out and not see the flaws of the plan. I already knew some of what is in this audio and learned a lot I had not.Mr. White did a wonderful job on the narration. He did a few character voices which were really good but most of the book is about facts and there is no need for them. He has a very pleasant voice that really adds to the detail of this audio. He gave the facts as they are but with interest like he really enjoyed learning the facts as much as I did. There are no repeats of words, nor any background noise, there are no volume changes. The music fits the story when it is used it isn’t over powering and blends very well. I thought his performance was great and he added a lot to the story with his tones and emotions. I look forward to listening to more of his work.
The author has put a lot of time doing his research from what I can tell he has it all down. He made the stories very interesting pulling the reader in. There were crimes I had never heard of which I really enjoyed. The cold cases were great with interesting facts on how they were solved many times years later. Laci Peterson broke my heart all over again for her and her unborn child. Most of the facts I knew but the author gave me some I didn’t. Robert Blake who I always loved as an actor and watched all his shows. His story was eye opening, somehow I thought he went to jail but after listening to his I remembered he got away with it. I truly believe he did the crime.
Jack Kevorkian really surprised me I had no idea it was due to him that laws were changed. I remember him well and his cockiness. I do agree with him when if I was in the same place as some of his patients I would want the right to die. I know some do not feel this way but for us that do we have to somehow look up to the doctor for doing what he felt was right helping those in pain find a end in peace. Out of all the stories I found this one the most interesting. Mr. Rosewood did an outstanding job giving the information to really pull the reader in giving me a story I totally enjoyed.
I will never understand the two brothers who killed their parents for money and how they lived after they were killed. It is mind blowing but then all killers blows one mind to their way of thinking and the reason behind it.
I found this to be a very good read with wonderful interesting fact. I had forgotten some so it was nice to review them. Others were new and very interesting. I am looking forward to listening/reading more of his work.
Help my attention, learned some I didn't know
