Publisher's Summary

What does dating the boss + meddling ex-wife + most adorable three-year-old ever equal? Trouble in Loveland.

At 17, Charlee Jensen packed her bags and left her beloved hometown of Loveland, swearing she would never have anything to do with the men that left her heartbroken: her father, the man who taught her heroes can fall; and Ryan Carter, her much older neighbor and teenage crush.

Now eight years later, Charlee has two degrees she never wanted and no job prospects, forcing her to swallow her pride and come home to work for her father's accounting firm - the same firm where newly divorced Ryan Carter is now a partner.

But trouble starts to stir when Ryan realizes the girl next door is all grown up and completely smitten with his adorable three-year-old. Ryan finds it hard to resist his beautiful, yet annoyingly charming neighbor and coworker, but is torn between his feelings and trying to keep the peace with his ex-wife, the mother of his child. It's a recipe for trouble. Will Charlee and Ryan find the formula for success?

Love for Loveland!

I don’t always like the way women readers do the male voices but I felt this narrator did a good job. I love this book for several reasons but I always love a story that makes me feel! I felt frustrated, ticked, happy and of course giddy!
I also love to laugh and this author always delivers that too! I have read this book so knew what would happen and yet it didn’t take away from the audible experience! Can’t wait for more of her books to come out in audible!

Loved this!

One of my favorite Jennifer Peel books, brought to life! I love Charlee’s and Ryan’s chemistry. Sigh. Now I’m off to re-read the sequel.

Great story, whiny narrator. Hard to get past the whine.

I’ve listened to 4 of Jennifer Peel’s books so far. I love her real portrail of life and love.

The narrator killed this book for me. There seemed to always be a edgy whine and combative sirrine underlying her tone. It’s too bad too, because the storyline was AMAZING.

I love the way issues were presented and worked through- just like real life really works. We get hurt, we get help and opinions from others and we have talks and even times of silence.

I love that this book ended happy as I hope that’s how we all end our tragic and beautiful lives as well.

Excellent , sweet book and clean!

It's so nice to read a romantic book without it being al about erotica or the other extreme of being too corny. This was a great read!

Doormat

I didn’t hate this book but the main character was really frustrating. She seemed so intelligent and mature in some ways but in others, was such a pushover. I kept wanting her to really end it with the guy because he kept doing the same things to her over and over AND OVER! That said, the performance was actually pretty good and the HEA was there, (even though I personally feel like she should have chosen better!)

GND romance with a twist

I enjoyed this girl next door romance. It took me on a whole rollercoaster of emotions but finally gets to where I wanted it to go. I love how Ms. Peel puts so much reality in her stories they are always a good read. I had to immediately read the sequel to this one.

The narrator did and excellent job. Her performance was captivating and kept the story entertaining.

Overall, an interesting novel, with emotion

I enjoyed 90% of the novel. Charlie who comes home at age 25 yrs and goes to work as an accountant for her Dad’s firm, finds that her teen crush (8 yrs her senior) is living next door and is recently divorced with a 3 yo child. She still has an interest in him but he has a difficult time with their age difference even though she is now a grown woman who is beautiful, smart and accomplished. She falls in love with his little boy, but he can’t get over multiple hang ups he has over dating her. It is interesting that now she has a lot more going for her than he does with his baggage from his marriage and his deference to the wishes of his former wife. On three occasions (strikes), he side with his former wife’s wishes over Charlie, and when he strikes out Charlie finally wisely ends their relationship. I personally don’t see how she puts up with all his “dissing” when she has so much going for her. She has some emotional baggage from her parents divorce and her mothers neglect afterwards. Do they work it out or does she go for one of the other great guys who like her?
