One of my favorite series brought to life
The Immortal Wake has always been a favorite series of mine. I love the gritty realism, the dark suspense, and the brutal commentary of a society in transition. It's also a fresh and fantastic take on an old legend. I think Burgher has perfectly captured the tone and tension that Wheeler created. He's a wonderful Jonas and his depictions of the remaining cast are all on point (especially Doren). I cannot wait to see what he does with Thursday Midnight, my favorite of the series.

Great Dark Futuristic Novel
This was my first experience with Zachry Wheeler's work, and I found it very entertaining. Humans were on the brink of destruction. Teenagers were used as spies to try and overthrow the existing regime. Jonas was caught between his past and his present. I was amazed at the complex worldbuilding. I liked many of the complicated characters. Once the audiobook started, I had to listen until the end as I had to know what would happen. I'm looking forward to the next story in the series. Eric Burgher's narration was great, and his performance enhanced the story's entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

The story is fragmented the plot line, pretty much nonexistent. It reads like a psychedelic rift.
