Publisher's Summary

You’re running out of time. Your new life is waiting for you, and here’s how you can claim it today!

Do you often sit there reminiscing about the good times you’ve had and wonder how in the heck things got this out of hand? He used to be such a great guy, you think, as you bounce back and forth between confusion, "love", and disgust. "Maybe it’s my fault," you conclude. “He is really busy with his work, and I’m not always as there for him as I could be.” Sound familiar? So then you go and change X, Y, Z about yourself - your image and attitude - just to try and fix the situation, just to try and make things go back to the way they were. At first, he’s receptive, and it seems you’ve figured it out, but then one day, he comes home irate - screaming at and maybe even hitting you. Suddenly, it’s all your fault again....

Are you terrified of your current situation but also don’t know what to do about it? Maybe you:

  • Feel like you’ve lost all of your friends and don't know how it happened
  • Are constantly on edge and always trying to do what you can to “fix everything”
  • Avoid certain things you used to love just because you know it will make him angry
  • Can't imagine your life any other way, let alone how you could possibly rebuild it

If any (or all) of these things are true, then you’re likely dealing with a narcissistic husband. You’re not crazy, and you have not lost your mind. The toxicity from your partner has left you in a cloud of confusion, and this emotional roller coaster is not your fault!

By embracing the truth of your situation and then moving forward and developing the knowledge you’ll need to break free, you’ll soon be able to do what is necessary to take your life back.

Obvious and predictable

I didn’t learn anything from this book that I couldn’t have found out by watching a reality tv show. Instead of giving tips about how to build intimacy with a partner or rewire myself to be attracted to healthy partners I was given “tricks” to manipulate men. No thank you.

Hits close to home

Really enjoyed this book. Wish my younger self had this or things like this were much more talked about when I was younger and going through things like this. A lot of points hit home and made a lot of sense going through what I have. I honestly think every woman should listen to this at an early age to help them realize the behavior and what to watch out for.

You deserve a healthy relationship!

I have seen many people who stuck in bad relationships. Many relationship did not start out toxic but the toxicity of the relationship grew over time. Often time I think hindsight is always 20/20. Many people who are in a toxic relationship didn't know they are in one. They feel like they are in a roller coaster ride with highs and lows and they become addicted to the unpredictability of these ups and downs. The author made a great point on how to recognize the toxic behavior in your partner and how we can get out / leave behind the toxic relationship. I think the most important is people have to want the better life and better relationship for themselves and for their children (if they have one). This is a great emotional support and guidance for women who want better relationship with themselves and for themselves.

Every woman needs to read this book.

There's a saying which goes," A Journey of Thousand Miles Begins with One Step." In a male-dominated society, we sometimes forget what women have to go through in Toxic Relationships. This book is a must-read for both men and women. Each chapter explains small things around the edges that can save an unhealthy marriage into a healthy one. I highly recommend this book.

Good advice - you cant change or fix men!

My daughter has been involved in a toxic and abusive relationship. This audio book has helped her heal and recognize the reasons why she got suckered in to the relationship. It has also helped her realize that you cant change other people you can only change yourself. It made me understand the reasons why (for some girls) nice guys come last!!

An eye opener!

First of all, I think this amazing book can apply to both women and men in some kind of situation. Me and my partner we live and work together for a long time now. This book is a LIFE CHANGER! We finally decided that is not healthy for both of us and especially for our relationship in long term to stay even at a job together so I already find a new job to make things great again.
The book is very well built full of eye-opener information which is sometimes bad to hear but if you want to change you have to step up and make the necessary steps in your life! Very well narrated definitely recommended!

How To Spot Toxic People

The audiobook was very well narrated and it was easy to become engaged with the topic. It was interesting to learn about red flags in terms of toxic behavior. Although i am not married, the information could easily be applied to any couple to understand whether they are in either a healthy or a toxic relationship.

Very Informative

| can safely say I am not in a toxic relationship but I can see how helpful this would be for someone who is, it is so so informative, everything you need to know from the first tell tale signs to how you would go about it legally. You feel like your really not alone and the author is right beside you, honestly that's how well portrayed this is, you have got back up girl!!

The narrators voice really set the tone. I even feel empowered myself after this, I'm not taking any crap from anyone anymore. You have got to be strong and stay true to yourself. I think this can relate to a partner or a friend, toxicity can be in any relationship. I think I have experienced in the past but I was blind like most of us because we get so wrapped up. All those little things can add up very quickly so listen to this woman, know the tell tales and get out. Know your self worth!!

A book which takes a long hard look at truth

To be honest, I think this book is suitable for both men and women. I have had problems on the other side, so I bought this book to see if the problems were the same. There is no difference. A bad egg is a bad egg.

Just the book I needed.

This book gave me hope. The author is extremely knowledgeable and understanding; It was just what I needed. If you're with a narcissistic person, you quickly start making excuses and talking yourself out of leaving. I now have the tools to take back my life and start living for me. If you are scared, this book will give you the confidence to do what you know is right. The narrator also has a great voice and excellent pacing- a joy to listen to.

Very informative

The author has done an amazing job in putting this audiobook together. I got this for a close colleague who is going their a horrendous marriage. There are many reasons why she is still with him, such as what goes on in the bedroom. but she really wants to leave him. She found the ideas given chapter on Planning your exit strategy really informative. I really hope she implements these strategies because she needs to leave him asap!

Get out while you can!

Both myself and my wife had previously endured traumatic relationships with extremely narcissistic prior partners. I bought this book for my wife primarily but having read it myself as well I think it's worth recommending. If you're fortunate enough to not have met a narcissist yet, protect yourself by reading this book and learning the mind games and manipulation that are a red flag. If you are in a relationship and not happy, it could be you're just not a good match or have different ambitions. However you may also be being gaslighted. It takes a long time to become aware of this and then accept it's really happening. This book speaks to this well and offers sound advice on what to do to extricate yourself from the situation and important strategies to use to ensure children are affected as little as possible.

The Enemy at Home!.

I have a good friend who suffered years at the hands of a narcissistic husband. Whenever I tackled him about it he always tried to blame my friend. These toxic people are like violent conmen, they will twist the situation to suit themselves. You are well rid of them. This Audiobook will greatly help you to get on top of the situation and free yourself from a Toxic husband.
