OMG the accent!

I read this book when it first came out and it was so so good. I just love the relationship between Daisy and Ben and how it develops. The story and connections to other characters are so well written. I love how there are even teasers of authors books. But when the audio came out I had to have it and I am so glad that I got it. Ben’s accent is FIRE and makes the book even better than just reading it. The narrators did such an incredible job bringing Jolie’s already amazing work to life. Highly recommend this book, and all of the books Jolie has written. They are so awesome.

Love the duet narration

This story is a fantastic addition to the McRae family and a great start to a new series. It was so nice to see our beloved McRaes and to watch Daisy integrate seamlessly into their lives. Ben was an intriguing character when he showed up in the pages of Tormented and I loved that his story came full circle back to the original Marry the Scot series that started it all.

I loved the duet narration and the narrator for Ben was particularly yummy.

Excellent Read

Jolie’s books always deliver the best steam, intrigue and development of her characters. This audiobook was perfectly narrated and made it a joy to “reread” in audio form.

This was my first book/audiobook by Jolie Vines and I freaking loved it! The storyline was fantastic, and I really enjoyed the lead characters Daisy and Ben. There were moments where the story felt like it dragged a bit, but the narrators did a really good job with helping me stay connected to the story. The spice was written really well and none of the scenes seemed too short or too long, they were just right. I really appreciated there wasn't OWD or a third act break-up, as I can't stand either of those things. I did struggle a bit with the lack of an epilogue between the two main characters and understand we'll continue seeing them in the next books in the series, however I would have still liked to have seen something, so I'm hoping for some kind of epic epilogue after the series is complete.

The narration was absolutely fabulous. I'm a huge Aaron Shedlock fan and that little bit of an accent he did really helps bring the MMC Ben to life. Addison also did a fantastic job and I thought she did a great job voicing Daisy. They're voices go really great together and I loved the sound effects too!

Highly recommend! I've already purchased and downloaded book 2 Save Her from Me and can't wait to jump in!

Steamy!!!

Loved the book and now I love the audio! I was caught off guard by the extra effects and they really took this book beyond duet!

Addison Barnes is new for me and she was fabulous.

Now for the story review… obviously I loved it. We met Ben as a baby in Come the Fall and he reappears in the Wild Mountain Scots series.
Daisy is the BFF of Ariel (Gabe’s sister) from Tormented (Wild Mountain Scots Series)

Their story starts when Ariel asks Ben to save Daisy from her family and things develop quickly from there. And let me tell you Jolie brought the steam on this one! Jolie always brings us a great plot and mixes in the steam. With Touch Her and Die she definitely brought the plot but she upped the steam value for sure!

Oh and we get to visit with the McRaes! What more can you ask for?

Very Hot And Steamy

Have the ice water and fan handy as you listen to this very hot (like supernova hot), very steamy bodyguard/client romance. The narrators do a fabulous job bringing this book to life, giving it nuance and depth. There is just something about a Scottish accent that makes me extra happy to listen to this book!

When asked to help a young woman in trouble while on his trip to the States, Ben agrees. His first glimpse of Daisy certainly makes an indelible impression. Discovering the half dressed woman is the woman he agreed to help should have tamed the lust he feels, but it is barely contained as he helps Daisy flee from her family and a dangerous situation. His need for control turns him into a surly, unapproachable travel companion, at least until they are forced to share a room and his control snaps.

Daisy finds Ben to be hot, sexy and growly, as well as rather moody and distant. His hot glances, clenched hands and certain other tell tale signs let Daisy know he is attracted to her, but clipped sentences and surly attitude is meant to shut her up. Right from the get go, Ben tells Daisy that he doesn’t have a heart to give and doesn’t do relationships. Then he gives into one night with them indulging their lust for each other, reasoning she isn’t his charge, and he is escorting her to safety for a friend. At least that is what he tells himself and Daisy because he has a rule of not touching someone he has been hired to protect. A misunderstanding puts Daisy in danger and suddenly she is on her way to Scotland with Ben. He finds just the right way to force Daisy not to think of her circumstances or fears. Having Daisy in Scotland certainly doesn’t tame the lust or the need Ben has to protect her. Now that she is officially under his protection, Ben is in a quandary. His hot and cold attitude towards her certainly wears on Daisy’s nerves. You will need to read this wonderful, totally enthralling book to discover just how Daisy handles Mr. Hot/Cold Bodyguard and just what situation precipitates her need for protection. Catching up with so many familiar characters from previous books is a treat and makes this book even more enjoyable.

I would highly recommend this book to all those who love their romance on the spicy side.
