The Alliance has been broken!

Betrayed from within by a rogue Synthetic Intelligence, the alliance has been fractured and is on the run. The Uplink Squadron forces have been in bad spots before, though, and have figured out a way to turn the tables on their enemies. But this time, the light at the end of the tunnel just might be the oncoming train!

Great story!

Very entertaining and fast action with many special surprises I didn't see coming. you will enjoy this book.

What was that ending!?

No spoilers but that ending came from left field. Looking back through the entire series there was maybe one or two hints but.... You need to get this book, hell you need to get this whole series!!!

Interesting Ending for the Series

The series was quite good and held my interest through to the end. I' m not sure I liked the "grand" finale.

I'm going to miss Lance Baker now that he is an immortal. Hopefully it sounded like there could be another addition to the series.

a very weird ending

I understand the author wanted to make a dramatic ending the way in which he did was very strange. I think it was very much a cheap way of ending the book not to mention offensive to billions of people around the world.

I will be discussing the ending of this book and the series. Do not read if you don't want to be spoiled. You've been warned.

The ending of this series was weird, and honestly, cheap and boring. The mystery of what the Al Overlords were hiding/guarding in thier "defended systems" was interesting. I was excited to find out what it was. Only to get that it's some ancient race that was responsible for seeding the galaxy with life (and currently still making life) and deifying themselves in that races histories. And that might be fine, but the rest of the story brings up a massive conflict. If they were creating life, why would they then make AIs that systematically oppress and then enslave all forms of life (their own creations) in the galaxy? The Overlords' intentions early on was "organic life bad, AIs superior." Then it shifts to "we must protect the mysterious Defended Systems, and that's why we did what we do." It makes no sense. It's like the fight against the Overlords and then the fight against the Laghastians was two different stories. This isn't even a single failing right at the end. There was several points in the series where conflicts happen and decisions are made that don't make sense if you think about it for a second. I let those go because they were minor hiccups, but in this case the entire story hinges on this one reveal at the end.
