Better than I expected
I ended up liking this book way more than i thought i would. The tidbits of real history, really transported you there and tugged at your emotions. The push and pull of the love story was also good, and realistic in the way her strangeness attracted him to her. A true "heart wants what it wants" story.

Compelling
Beautifully, art fully written. Not a simple love story, but complex telling of a complex history with fully developed characters. Very moving. with such a satisfying ending. It stays with you — impossible to forget. You will not be disappointed.

Charming Historical Love Story
Beautiful historical love story. Very well written and full of wonderful characters. Pulls at the heartstrings. I couldn’t put it down. The narration was absolutely excellent. Highly recommended!!

This book takes you there.
"Hell had returned to Ireland" and It was up to Kathleen to save her desperate family from yet another famine. I was captivated by the well drawn characters and superb drama of this superbly told tale.

Beautiful story, beautifully read
What a wonderful and romantic story. The narrator’s voice was perfect for the reading. I had to keep driving so I could finish listening. Goodness, what a book!
