Publisher's summary

October 1, 1890. Colonel Annika Wise is stranded in time. After Kyle Mason and Padma Mahajan return to the year 2008, Annika is stuck in 1890s Deadwood, unable to escape.

After the punishing defeat of the US Army at the Massacre of Grand River, the military will stop at nothing to exact revenge on Annika and her Lakota allies. After Annika foretells the destruction of San Francisco in 1906, she is labeled a “witch” by W.R. Hearst and Teddy Roosevelt’s administration.

Targeted for capture by Pinkerton agents, Annika seems doomed until a mysterious agent from the mid-century intervenes. Together, Annika and the agent leverage their knowledge of the future to change the course of human history, until Kyle Mason is ordered to return to the past to stop Annika by any means necessary.

Did not see that coming!! Wow!

I loved this one too! I hope there is a book 4 as I am so invested in these characters. This was a great deep dive into ANNIKA. Stayed up late to get to the ending and I did not see that coming. Won’t give spoilers, but I loved where the author took this one. Great Trilogy!

Awesome story terrible performance

Absolutely love the story and the time shifts it has but the narrarator has to go! Her trying to portray the voice of men is appalling. Some of the wording she uses doesn't fit the time periods the story is in. Great series can't wait for the next book!

Loved the Story. But-

Would have wanted book #4 - But. Absolutely did not like the end of this one. Very clever but left an infinite loop. Each time I thought back about the book, I remembered those same words from another reader and it left me feeling sad. I read this was purchased to be a movie. I hope directed well and to be ended on another note.

Great book!

The writing and the narration are superb. The story has a very clever plot. Great time travel story with some cool “what if” moments. I love this series.

Ending is a complete trainwreck [no spoilers]

Nothing like wrapping up a good time travel story with an ignored temporal paradox, particularly one that raises serious moral questions about the main characters that are also ignored and are incongruous with the story. Very disappointing.

The story continues to worsen

Book one of this series, caught my attention, and I enjoyed it quite a lot. Of course, I purchased book 2, and later book 3, and in each case the story got worse. Book 1 kept my attention, books 2 and 3 were good to fall asleep too.
