Hank McConnell's is having a bad day at the office. First, he just destroyed history. He finds himself living in the Confederate States of America, Lincoln was convicted as a war criminal, and slavery existed for another 50 years. Secondly, his blunder erased his family from existence and his alternate self works as a lonely tenured professor instead of at the Historical Preservation Agency.
He doesn't have much time. He travels back to Lincoln's presidency to right what went wrong. Unfortunately, correcting time is like herding cats and one fix leads to more and more changes.
Is he willing to do the unthinkable to make the world whole again?

The ending where things are finally wrapped upDo you think Time Historian needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
NoAny additional comments?
I enjoy books about time travel & the premise of this book was interesting. However, I felt that the beginning of the book was lacking in the reasons for the whole story. The book jumps right into a situation where an organization is sending a recording device back to President Lincoln's time, but we are never told why this recording needs to be made. When something goes wrong with the recording, history is altered.
Immediately, Hank is sent back in time to set history back to the "correct" timeline. He seems very ill prepared to make this journey, but is sent back in time. Also, before he is sent back, he is injected with a poison which will kill him in 48 hours unless he comes back to his time for the antidote. Why? This is never explained.
The story is interesting & anytime there is time travel involved, even the most innocent comment can alter the whole course of history. However, I think that the set up for the story is weak & the necessity of Hank's time travel is never fully explained. Also, after a lot of build up, the ending seems a little rushed. A good book, but it could have been so much better.
