Publisher's summary

A wondrous tale of epic fantasy....

A seamstress with a mysterious past stumbles upon a lost child that triggers long-buried memories.

A queen fighting an impossible war sends her wife on a dangerous mission to find the source of all magic in a desperate bid to save her nation.

A boy whose life has been cursed with bad luck finds his fortune inexplicably changing.

Three stories, woven through time and circumstance, will illuminate the fate of magic in Andriel.

Sena Andeo writes epic fantasy set in the magical world of Andriel and dabbles in the odd superhero and romance novel as well. She lives in Virginia, where she works at a shelter for human trafficking survivors and enjoys playing piano, coloring, dive bars, live concerts, and the James River.

Wonderfully Intriguing

A wonderfully intriguing story weaving through the lives of multiple characters. Sena Andeo provides ample description of the happenings without bogging down the story line. Ms. Arnadine entrances the listener with her command of the voices for each character.

Convoluted Fantasy

This was my first experience with Sena Andeo's work, and it was good, but there were some issues that I had with it. The story jumped around from different characters' perspectives. Just as I was settling in to listen to one character's activities, I would be taken to a different one, and so the story was difficult to follow. The characters weren't very likeable either, although I admired the queen who put her people above her personal life. The worldbuilding was extensive. The machinations at court were intriguing. Ink Arnadine's narration was fine, and I enjoyed the various voices that she performed; however, some of the voices had accents that made it difficult to comprehend what was being said. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

A solid high fantasy

I was honestly pleasantly surprised by this novel. I received this as a free copy and actually didn't expect too much from it. I really liked the characters and magic system here. Main characters were flawed but vivid and likable. Dialogue flowed naturally. This novel is very self contained and ties up narrative threads neatly.

Narrator also did splendidly. Splendid performance.
