Publisher's Summary

Ashley Rhodes-Courter spent a harrowing nine years of her life in 14 different foster homes. Her memoir, Three Little Words, captivated audiences everywhere and went on to become a New York Times best seller. Now Ashley reveals the nuances of life after foster care: college and its assorted hijinks, including meeting "the one". Marriage, which began with a beautiful wedding on a boat that was almost hijacked (literally) by some biological family members. Having kids - from fostering children and the heartbreak of watching them return to destructive environments, to the miraculous joy of blending biological and adopted offspring.

Whether she's overcoming self-image issues, responding to calls asking for her to run for Senate, or dealing with continuing drama from her biological family, Ashley Rhodes-Courter never fails to impress or inspire with her authentic voice and uplifting message of hope.

Excellent! The author reads this and does a marvelous job! Really gave me insight into the foster care system something I was woefully ignorant about!

After listening to the 1st memoir by this author, I immediately dove into this one. I fell in love with Ashley, her amazing husband, and all the children she met and described throughout her life. She is an amazing person doing great things.

Excellent

As a retired Master's Level CPS Social Worker I found this book to be compelling, accurate, heartbreaking and heartwarming. if only more foster and adoptive parents were as kind, loving and dedicated as Ashley and Eric. I highly recommend listeningn to "Three Little Words."

You go Girl!

A well told, honest account of the author’s experience with both sides of the foster care system. As a foster child and as a foster parent. This should be required reading for all who are employed with a state foster care system.

Great listen! There are true heroes amongst us!

After several chapters in, I was disappointed that the author didn’t go into detail about her experiences at her foster homes. That’s what I thought this was about. However, I soon realized it wasn’t about her experiences at each home, though they all determined her future, but how her and her husband stepped up to be advocates for all the kids cycling through foster care. A truly eye-opening and factual book! Bless you Ashley and Eric and all the wonderful family members who have supported you! Will be donating to their great organization!

Realization- I was One of the Lucky Ones

Ashley’s story is so many emotions. Sad, Angry, thankful, heartwarming, and yes confusing. Fairytale endings do happen. But it’s not as easy as it seems. If all foster, adopted, and biological families could be like the Couters, Ashley and her husband The world would be better off! The confusing part, after all these years why do we still have such a huge problem with DFCS hiding truths? All agencies and those in contact should come together on each and every child’s behalf! What I wouldn’t give to THANK my LOVING foster mother!
