Publisher's Summary

An ocean of darkness lives in the journal of Philip Pinkerton. Ancient things with no place in our world are rising from the abyss. Ezekiel, the arrogant, mad god has called us into battle. Does he think we can't touch him, or does he know we can't? I wish I knew. The world's only hope lies in a forgotten weapon, the strength of our allies, and one necromancer of questionable ancestry. Yeah, this is going to end well.

Can't wait to hear book 5

Next up, book 5. So far these first 4 books have been so amazing. I love the narrator, he makes it so fun to listen to them. I have had several giggles, some sadness, a little anger and well all of the emotions. Thank you for writing such a great series.

Vesik: Broken World; Awesome!

I’ve purchased the entire Vesik series and honestly have been drawled in and kept listening till the end! The stories and characters are wonderful. There’s nothing better than a book that keeps you wanting more till the very end!! If you love fairies, vampires, werewolves and supernatural you will LOVE this series , it’s mostly action not a lot of sex involved which I prefer , you won’t be disappointed !

The surprise that keeps on giving

I got hooked on this series its that simple. I think for me it is the characters; I feel invested in them and want to keep on hearing their story. Its not a straight forward story and while you should be able to guess some things, "Never trust a fairy" you don't see it all coming. I like the authors interpretation of necromancers.

Another good read but drawn out

though I enjoy the story and will continue to follow the series, I felt this story was drawn out a lot more the needed to be. Would have been just as good a story if not so drawn out.

Wonderful!

This book had so much action. It's constantly moving. Wonderfully imaginative, enthralling, chilling...heartbreaking! So so funny and vivid and, for me, full of anxiety! After four books, I've become quite invested in the welfare of all these characters so, the fact that something not nice could happen to any of them had me holding my breath more that once!
And, this narrator is just perfect for the series. He does an amazing job bringing the world and characters to living brilliance!
Loved it and, can't wait to listen to the next book!

Vesik evolves

Any additional comments?

Really enjoyed this book. I'm a big fan of the series and This Broken World was a perfect fit. The storyline and characters are evolving as our hero and his destiny become more complicated. What really stands out to me is how the author writes good comedic lines and the narrator delivers spot on, all without interfering with the more series aspects of the story. Narrator couldn't be more perfect for the main character.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series!

Would you consider the audio edition of This Broken World to be better than the print version?

I never read the print version, but this is an entertaining audiobook.

What other book might you compare This Broken World to and why?

I would call this very similar to the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. Both in humor and tone, if you like Dresden, you'll love Vesik.

What does William Dufris bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

William Dufris has proven to be a great narrator. He really makes many of the characters come alive. I can practically see Zola when he speaks for her. I will definitely look for more books he has narrated.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book definitely made me laugh out loud many times.

Any additional comments?

Great book and a great narrator. Anymore, I stick to longer books, preferably boxed sets or omnibus editions, to get the best bang for my buck. I enjoyed the Vesik 1-3 set so much I bought 3 extra credits so I could get to this one.

Good story, better than previous ones.

A good installment after the first 3 stories.

Felt like I got a lot of background information on characters and although it took a while to get to it, the battle was worth the wait.
