During WWI, he worked as a public relations expert for President Woodrow Wilson's administration. In 1933, Jennings Randolph, a senator from West Virginia, introduced him to Theodore Roosevelt. Hill again found himself in the role of presidential advisor. After establishing the Napoleon Hill Association in 1952, he actively promoted the philosophy of personal success. He also headed the Napoleon Hill Foundation, a public organization aimed at educating people in the "science of success".

This dude is soulless and not very articulate but the book is life changing

I had a hard time understanding the reader and his emphasis of words is wacky. Annoying

Good book bad audio

Read a different version with a different reader, it is distracting and hard to retain Information with this reader.

Voiceover is bad. You get what you pay for.

The book is great, but the voiceover is not.

This is to help educate the voiceover actor and help anyone considering buying this version. It's not meant to be mean.

One reason I write that the voiceover is bad, is he doesn't know how to pronounce some common words. It's not that they're tough or even long word. For instance, he doesn't know how to pronounce the word "ether." As in the chemical substance. Most on-line or app dictionaries could easily help rectify that.

Here's another annoying thing the voiceover does. Rather than use the edit button, and fix his mistakes, he repeats himself (often multiple times to get it right). I've listened from the beginning through Chapter 2 so far. The number of instances when he's done that has been at least 4-5 times.

And finally, often times he doesn't contextualize what he's reading. The author of the book wrote passages that were intended to have emphasis on certain words. When you don't do that, it leaves the story lacking the necessary substance.

If the voiceover would learn to pronounce words, contextualize what he's reading, and use the edit button to remove his mistakes, it would've been much better.

This is an example of - you get what you pay for.

Miss this one

While this recording may be a direct reading of the original, it is read by a non-native English speaker and so suffers from incorrect emphasis and confusing pronunciation. It is also recorded badly with many mistakes and restarts left in. MISS THIS ONE. There are others to choose from.

Narration is not good

Narratation is not good. Couldn't listen. The Russ Williams narration is a better one .

Narrator does not pronounce the English words correctly

Could have been a great story but due to the numerous mispronunciations of words in this text, it is distracting enough to put it away forever. I persevered through this excruciating performance in order to get the important details of the book but now contemplating downloading another version and starting all over. The version also seemed as if it wasn’t edited: there are several instances where the narrator says a line incorrectly and then repeats it correctly. Do not download this version if you are considering spending 8+ hours listening to this great book by Napoleon Hill.
