Good listen

Thin Ice, Enter Darkness, Book 4, By: K. M. Fawkes is a post apocalypse story.

A short story about struggle of survival in an apocalypse. There is good characters and a good story line.

I can’t only remember any corse Language. There are no sex scenes. Although there is some violence it doesn’t go into a lot of details.

It ends on a cliffhanger.

Narrator Andrew B. Wehrlen does a good job, with each character having their own individual voices.

This series captivated me!

This is the fourth installment of this series. So so much is happening in here. We see Brad doing so much walking and endangering his life over and over doing the right things. Not knowing who to trust is becoming a obvious trait. I am glad he had Remington to be with and share time with in here. He is in an endless quest looking for Annie, Sam and Martha. They are his driving surviving force.

Another wonderfully entertaining book in this series. It’s full of action, drama and suspense and emotion. It captivates me while listening to Andrew B Wehrlen tell the tale of Brad.

I am pleased I picked up this series and gave it a chance.

Holy Cliffhanger!

I have really been enjoying this series. I want to start out with the morality rating PG-13 to R - this series does have some graphic violence throughout and bad language, although I will say that the amount of bad language lessened in this one compared to book 3 (which I was completely grateful for, there were only a handful of f-bombs in this one). These are not stand alone books, you really need to read from the beginning. I don't want to give anything away, so my review may come off a bit vague. Book four picks up right where three left off... he's on the run again trying to find his family and runs into new surprises and more trouble. The author does a fantastic job of keeping the story moving and me so wrapped up in it that I can't put it down. Be ready to order book five when you get this book because it leaves off on the most horrible cliffhanger. If you like adventure and the post-apocalyptic style books then you'll love this one. The narrator is a ton of fun to listen to and does a great job with the voices and acting.

A great series

Wow, this series just keeps getting better. I honestly think this is the best one yet (at least once the chapter order thing was fixed). Anyway, the narration is fantastic and Brad is an awesome main character. Definitely a series I want to continue.

The chapter order has been corrected

This is the second book I’ve read/listened to by this author and I would like to listen to the rest of the series. I have previously listened to book 3. After escaping the retirement community turned military run compound, Brad is on his way to tracking down Anna and the kids, whom he was separated from. Of course, why they were separated is not explained since it is surely the topic of the previous books. Despite not having listen to the first two books I still find the story engaging. Each one seems to have its own story thread with a version of conclusion and a lead into the continuing story.

If living in the frozen world is not difficult enough.

This is the eighth book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Andrew B Wehrlen ) and as I did not doubt- another great performance. He reads this genre well with the right amount of expression and realism. The tone of his voice adds to the dark nature of the stories.
Previous reviewer‘s commented on a mistake in the chapters but this has been corrected

There are no explicit sex scenes, or excessive gory violence. I do not recall if there was swearing.

Amazing story continues

Only complaint is this is such a short book!
Lee is crazy as a loon. Brad is continuing to become an amazing character. Hopefully ‘The Family’ has been destroyed and will not rise back up. Starting book 5 tonight.

As always Andrew does an absolutely amazing job narrating!

Chapters have been fixed and are in proper order!

Brad's continuing saga was exciting and intriguing! I enjoyed listening to this audible and the narrator was really awesome! He has a knack for changing voices where they are easy to differentiate the characters. The arrival of Lee on the scene made things even more interesting and threw a curve ball in the recue mission. While I appreciated the different characters, I did not care much for Anne. I would have to agree with Lee on this. Not only is she a liability for Brad, but her personality is lacking, along with her intelligence. I would recommend this series to anyone who is into apocalyptic books.

The weak don't deserve them.

This series has been so enjoyable in large part because of the often unexpected character reactions. But this episode, though continuing the trend, now seems to be focusing more on the crazies. Not that this is an unlikely happenstance after months of post apocalyptic madness. However, the reintroduction of more moderate survivors would be nice.
Still plenty of action, of creative thought processes (and of reflection by Brad on what has happened over the course of the previous three books) and self justification as Brad, now reunited with the father who first built the prepper cabin, continues the search for Anna and the children. Andrew B.Wehrlen again performs his excellent narration.

I was fortunate in being freely gifted a complimentary copy of Thin Ice by the rights holder, after I had requested it via Audiobook Boom. Thank you. It remains a most compulsive serialised story, the individual episodes fairly short and quickly read, the whole area now seeking to be spiralling out of control. The unexpected cliff hanger at the end of this book weightlessness that I will be waiting for book 5 when it appears. Recommended for all post apocalyptic readers, but remember to read it in order.
