It’s got a very fresh twist

I didn’t see the twist going in that direction and it was refreshing. Even the side stories ended up being of importance in the end and it makes it a little better.

I didn't know what I was walking into when my started listen to this audiobook but it surpassed whatever expectations I had. Writing is poetic, story is immersive and characters are fully fleshed out. This is not for everyone but if you enjoy a Gothic supernatural thriller/horror that reads like a fever dream you never want to escape, this book is for you.

Loved every minute of it could not put it down. Recommend it to anyone who likes a good read.

Captivating, Haunting, Horrifying and Beautiful

I loved this story! Very well imagined and wonderfully narrated. I was hooked into the mystery from the first page to the last.

Such a great story!

I could not stop. I binged this story in one day! When you think you know what’s going on it takes you to another path where the story is going. I’m definitely sharing this with others.

Never guessed the ending

Great book! Kept you guessing and engaged throughout the whole storyline. It was a great listen

A real pageturner!

This book was even better than I anticipated. After reading the summary, I was completely taken in as I wanted to know why I had to be lied to first before being told the truth. Now, it all makes sense. This book was an incredible journey full of sinister family secrets, as Helen worked to stay alive during her year at Harrow and unravel the mystery of its past before they unraveled her.

Thought provoking

I enjoyed this book. If you choose to do so, it can make you look at your morals, how humans can be so arrogant, rip something into this world and rip it apart. Do you sacrifice people for the greater good? Do you free a monster? Good vs evil all depends on your perception. This is a good story on the surface, sufficiently creepy and mysterious. But it has a depth that is very intriguing should you choose to dive in.

Weird and Wonderful

This book is strange, and there were times when I felt unhappy about the direction it was taking, but I ended up really liking it in the end. I didn’t know the story of The God Pan so I didn’t recognize any of the nods to that, but it’s very cool making those connections now, in retrospect. I saw reviews saying it was boring and I definitely didn’t feel bored at all. In fact, I read it in one sitting. The only complaint I really have is that most of the main characters are teens but seem much older, especially Briony. There were elements of the story that reminded me of The Haunting of Bly Manor. It definitely had that haunting gothic vibe without being the same old story repackaged.
