I loved It!

This was captivating. I am a huge Star Trek fan, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this Audiobook. I can't wait for seasons 2 & 3 of TOS!

Great book

Not so great reading. What on earth is up with Bob Justman’s inflection? I knew Bob. He doesn’t sound like this. I do hope that if they do 2 and 3 the narrator has nothing to do with it. LOVE the fact that some of the guests were available to read their parts.

I finally hear the untold drama

I knew there was drama behind the making of this series, but never to the extent as presented here. This book did everything right: presented us the original drafts of each episode, the filming woes, quotes from cast AND crew, and how each episode performed when first aired and how they were reviewed nationwide.

The Origins Of A Classic

This audiobook gives the details of how the television show Star Trek, The Original Series was brought into existence. . As an audience, we only get to see the final product. But there are are hours and hours of practice in preparation for that performance. This book lets you see the practice before the performance in an insightful and entertaining manner. It also acts as a Master Class into what is involved in getting a production on television on a weekly basis, worts and all. For die hard Trekkers this is an invaluable resource into their favorite show, highlighting the extraordinary effort exerted to bring the show to life with all of the quality that time has shown was executed at the inception of this enduring and beloved pop culture classic. The presentation of the material is inventive and entertaining, with attention to details that helps the listener fully appreciate the hard work the creative team put forth for the benefit of the viewers. Lastly, this audiobook acts as a kind of time capsule illustrating the television landscape in the early days when there were only three major television networks in the United States.
I highly recommend this audiobook to anyone interested in learning what it takes to create a franchise dynasty like no other.

Great behind the scenes chronicle and great narration. I really hope they do audiobooks for the rest of this series and more like it for newer Trek productions.

absolutely amazing read for fans both casual and fanatic.

I am a big Star Trek fan. I’ve been in seven clubs. Dressed up as a Klingon for Fourth of July parade. I’ve read books, comic books, cartoons, seen every episode. Who knows how many times. But the amazing revelations and detailed accounts of me behind the scenes production of each episode in this book is absolutely outstanding!
and I only do you get an end up look at Star Trek in particular, but you get a spice of TV history and how it’s all put together that will give you new insights to every show you watch whether it’s next generation or repeats of cheers in France. Lee entire volume is… Fascinating.

Star Trek a ... hit ?

So, it's been like since Star Trek came out that I have read nearly anything about it and this is the first publication that mentioned the AC Nielsen ratings. Star Trek history has always been stated like " the show never made it with the public" and it made history in reruns but now, we know the truth, a minor miracle happened with this show as it hit rather largely from the first airing. It stands a mystery why NBC treated a hit so poorly and then tried to kill it by placing it in a poor time slot...well, we have the next book to unearth some of those facts. Superlative book...

When will Book 2 be released??? It has been long enough. Please hurry. This is a great book and no interesting but of historical value.

In depth look at the production of Star Trek TOS 1st season on an episode by episode basis. Great for those of us interested in the real details. It's a great listen!
