About this listen

The first book in USA Today best-selling author Molly Harper’s dazzling new Moonshadow Cove trilogy, simmering with magical mayhem, spicy romance, and laugh-out-loud humor!

As the youngest of three sea witch sisters, Linney Seaworth lives a secluded existence in her family’s secret cottage on Moonshadow Cove, the far side of Starfall Point. Together, the Seaworths wield magic derived from the surrounding waters to keep the human population safe from paranormal threats. But Linney has always longed for a more adventurous life ... which is exactly what she gets when handsome newcomer Gray Brockhurst shows up on the Island.

Gray just inherited one of Starfall’s oldest ghost tour companies. Even though he’s never believed in ghosts, he’s continuing the family business to honor his late grandfather, who relished in sharing the island’s lore. But Gray is thrown for a loop when a lovely local interrupts his tour and changes his entire world view. Apparently, ghosts are all too real, and he’s been offending them with inaccurate stories during his “performances.”

But soon the Seaworths face a bigger problem: A deadly enemy has been unleashed, and it’s unlike anything they’ve ever encountered. As Linney and Gray work together to stop it, the attraction brewing between them just might be the most powerful magic of all.

I like this introduction to a new magical series. The Seaworth sisters live in a secluded cottage outside of Starfall Point, while they have their own magical coven, they don’t interact with the Starfall Point witches, until now.

I’m looking forward to this series

Another winner by Molly Parker. I love how she has taken a new group of characters yet placed them in the same area as her Starfall point books. I always look forward to her books because her characters are funny, engaging, and very believable and realistic. I am thrilled to carry on with these books and hope she can write them fast.

Great story

4.5 ⭐️, Molly Harper perfectly captures the coziness of northern lower Michigan again, moving around the island over to Moonshadow Cove. This was such a fun listen, and the narration by Amanda Ronconi and Teddy Hamilton was spot on. At 2.5x speed, I burned through this book so quickly as I ate up all the new world-building in what is sure to be another new favorite series. While I’ve read the first two Starfall Point books (waiting for 3 to come out this year in print!), I think readers who haven’t would be able to jump into this easily without spoiling themselves too much if they go back to the very beginning after. I appreciated the fast pace of the plot while it also balanced downloading a significant amount of new information that will be important in future installments. The Seaworth sisters are each so clearly defined, I can’t wait to see who features next. Thanks to Molly Harper for the gifted copy!

An exciting new world (and just as cozy!)

Great storyline! Love the Starfall Point series. So glad she’s keeping it going. Hope to see some of the other Starfall Point characters in the other books.

Great story line!

The author is definitely known for her snarkiness and her storylines. Last time we were on this island we were learning about the Shadow house and this time we learned about the hidden cove of sea witches. It's an interesting story because it brings in a couple of the characters from the Star Point falls series. It's always nice to see crossovers between storylines. In this case we get the snarky teenage young woman because she's no longer a girl and she has really grown into her own. We get to see another character and I'm going to leave that as a surprise. I'm being as vague as I can because I really want to plant some spoilers here, but I don't want to run it for anybody. The author has taken her time in developing the storyline and is slowly developing the various characters. I like her books because she focuses on two character's development in the first book and then in the second book weaves in two more characters storylines, but in the third book she'll weave all of it together and it becomes a really compelling storyline I think. Interesting to see it all unfold.

Sea witches are real

I liked this, but didn’t adore it. I believe that a big chunk of my disquiet with the story came from having big expectations for this story because of my fondness for Ms. Harper’s work in general. This story was a pretty slow starter & I struggled to connect with both protagonists. Grey has family issues that are removed by what felt like a deus ex machina, Linny has a very convoluted & disfunctional, if more well-meaning family. And again this was sacrificed for the sake of a whacky plot. Really wanted to love this, but taken all together it felt forced. Hope the next couple of installments resolve some things for me.

Very good listen!

Total Molly Harper fan. The books always make me feel happy. If my life is down I relisten to a Harper series. I didnt like the ending though felt like a cliff hanger.
