Great Plot! The language pulled my rating down.

It would have been a five-star for everything just did not need the vulgarity.

It was a slow burn

It was a slow burn, not too spicy you know, but it kept me interested. The storyline was really good to me.

I can not say enough times what a GEM this book is.

It has the unique quality to have the most gruesome topic but it unfolds in such a dramatic but humour filled way that I could not get enough. Truly Unique .

Yes, there are some steamy and also tender moments and a lot of heart.

Friendships, Comeradery and a gentle reminder that sometimes staying you is enough.

As Kylie have shown before in Wildflowers she understands Human emotions and its nuances so well and depicts it in the best way an author could.

Easy 5 start and Andi does not disappoint in her narration.

Super good but so sad what the FMC goes through

Loved the love story and was intrigued by the murder mystery part of it, but seeing how awfully people treated Sydney was really sad and frustrating. I know it was fiction, but people suck. Glad she got her HEA

A great romantic suspense from Kylie Scott!

So I was listening to a different Kylie Scott audiobook, but this one came out on audio before it will be available as a paperback or e-book, so I jumped on the chance. It was also a free listen on Audible too. You probably know I don’t read a ton of romantic suspense books, but Kylie Scott’s books usually have the humor and characters that I enjoy just about any type of story she writes. And this one was no exception to that trend for me.

While my brain kept thinking of all the twists that could be coming, the new guy wasn’t who he said he was, her true crime loving friends “helping” her figure out where her ex might have buried other bodies maybe were in it for more. I did kind of see one twist coming when something about the phone being face down during a conversation was mentioned. But other than that, no twists for the people that were friends and new love were to be found. Sorry to spoil that for you!

However, the ex was definitely a creep and he played into pretty much all the drama we got. Between threatening her with letters and phone calls, his latest girlfriend coming and stalking Sidney, and even those people out there who believed he was innocent and that Sidney was actually the killer. There was a lot of tense moments and suspense for sure with all of that. There was a cute dog that showed up and became her pet. Her new guy, Noah, was a winner for sure, even if he did have a totally understandable moment at first of stepping back when he found out about her history.

This was a quick listen at only about 6 hours, and I definitely recommend it!

Love Kylie she’s an awesome author

I always enjoy Kylie’s books she always has the best male characters and this didn’t disappoint on that front in fact, I enjoyed this, however, it was too short and the women characters could have used more involvement. There was an awesome opportunity to dive into the mystery of where the bodies were It would have also helped to make it overall more in-depth. Do better Kylie you usually do.

Surprisingly suspenseful and unexpected

I went into this story blind, as I often do, expecting from the title for this to be a dark comedy, my immediate association was that it would be in the vein of the movie So I Married an Axe Murderer. However I found this to be more of a suspense/thriller with a romantic storyline. The Romance was a part of the story, however it was not the central purpose. I think the thriller aspect of this storyline was well done, but as I expected this to be a romance, I was disappointed that it felt like an afterthought. The suspense in this story had me distrustful of all the characters. The narration by Andi Arndt, who narrates all of Kylie Scott's book, brings the characters and story to life beautifully.

I think this book is perfect for someone who leans more toward a thriller/suspense story, but enjoys aspects of romance.

Sidney was everything!

The story, characters, and world-building were perfection. I was locked in every chapter, truly invested in Sydney's story. Noah was the best book boyfriend a lady could ask for. He stood by her, loved her, and never let go. Sidney went through a challenging time, I don’t know how she was so strong through it all. But even on her worst days, she held on and fought hard. Her friends, Noah, and Augie have a special place in my heart. I loved the story from start to finish. And as always, Andi Arndt was Ah-mazing!
