This is the humorous misadventures of Steve White, who was taking a stroll and looking out over a small pond to see if any of the turtles were out. When suddenly, he finds himself over 400 light-years away. Surrounded by strange aliens and desperately trying to find a way out of this impossible situation.

He "fakes it” and accepts the role of the Earth Ambassador to the Pathless, the somewhat insectoid partial humanoid 4-sexed race he now finds himself with.

His goal is to return to the Earth. Their goal is much harder to understand. They want him to be the trade ambassador. But what do they want from the Earth, and what can they offer the Earth in return?

The aliens eventually agree to send him back to Earth, but they insist he bring two of their race along. One is a female that metamorphosed into what almost passes as a human. The other in their normal form.

When he arrives back on Earth, things get strange fast.

Although there are common themes among this authors stories and the genre this author is skilled are altering the Story premise and sequencing to make each story feel unique. The author is also very skilled at leaving openings for the story to progress in a number of different directions without feeling that they are setting up for a sequel or series. This story is open to continue on Earth, our Solar System, and Other Planets and I hope the author expands this book into a series to explore these Avenues with these characters. While some characters carry over in series each story feels like it stands alone with it's own complete story arc while remaining part of a larger story arc. Worldbuilding is on point with the author addressing social, political, and/or economic points to build tension or drama without getting bogged down in minutia.

Another Great Story Premise and Story Line

I wasn’t sure what this book was about until I started reading it. It’s a really interesting topic, and the author did a great job of building the story. I’m curious to see where they take it if they decide to continue the series. The computer-generated voice was pretty good too.

Interesting story line.
