This book introduces the ‘Scattered Worlds’ universe, where an alien race, the Lenovians, performed what should have been a normal “weapons test." However, their experiment went disastrously wrong, creating thousands of scattered worlds, as if someone had blended them all and then randomly pieced them back together.

Jake Anderson was on his way to a night class at UNH when his car unexpectedly crashed into an impossible wall of snow beside a pool of lava. He now finds himself in a chaotic world, a blend of vastly different environments. Walking just under a thousand yards in any direction brings him to an entirely new landscape.

When he attempted to help the first person he met, he discovered they were not human. The strange bipedal humanoid aliens aren’t the main issue; rather, the world they now find themselves in has turned into a dangerous survival scavenger hunt. Jake must locate other survivors, form a tribe composed of several different species, and all while avoiding the dangerous creatures from countless different worlds.

The story line is intriguing and what little I could stand to listen to was building well. However, the virtual voice mispronounces too many words often and inconsistently. Authors, PLEASE PLEASE, if using virtual voice, have someone listen to it just like you have proofreaders do the written versions. I want to hear the story not try to decipher the language being spoken. I am going read this book when I can, very disappointed not to be able to enjoy the audio,

I really wanted to listen......
