Publisher's summary

One mother on the run.

A safe place to hide.

But you can't escape the past forever...

Faye is 39 and single. She's terrified she may never have the one thing she always wanted: a child of her own.

Then she discovers a co-parenting app: Acorns. For men and women who want to have a baby, but don't want to do it alone. When she meets Louis through it, it feels as though the fates have aligned.

But just one year later, Faye is on the run from Louis, with baby Jake in tow. In desperate need of a new place to live, she contacts Rachel, who's renting out a room in her remote Norfolk cottage. It's all Faye can afford - and surely she'll be safe from Louis there?

But is Rachel the benevolent landlady she pretends to be? Or does she have a secret of her own?

HATE HATE HATE Rachel narrator

Good story, but oh my God, the narrator, for Rachel is awful. Yet another book that apparently did not have a producer listen to it before it was published. “Voo” no it’s pronounced view.
And “com-poo-ter” - seriously? Poo indeed.
Ah-boo-sive instead of abusive
Foo instead of few
Con-foo-sed? It’s pronounced con-few-sed, thank you very much.
Racking my brains-do you have more than one brain? Good for you but that’s not anatomically possible
Disorientated is not a word. It’s disoriented.
I could go on. And on.
it’s even worse when The Rachel narrator is doing Faye/Fiona‘s voice. It’s just hideous. I cringed every time her chapters started.

Just AWFUL!

Had potential but….

Seemed like it was going to be good at first but the characters are just too annoying and unlikable. The story has potential and was interesting at first but fell flat in the end. Id pass on this one
