Publisher's Summary

From New York Times best seller Lexi Ryan comes a sexy new romance novel about a runaway bride, a single dad who's sworn off love, and the kind of family secrets that can threaten to break even the deepest bonds.

You never forget your wedding day. Or the moment your twin sister pukes on your bouquet and confesses she's pregnant...with your fiance's baby.

I wanted to get away, to hide until my heart mended. I found myself in a strange town with a mysterious stranger whose talented mouth and hands almost made me forget it was supposed to be my wedding night.

Afraid to go home to face my broken life, I pretend to be my twin so I can take her job in Jackson Harbor caring for a six-year-old girl. Imagine my surprise when I find out my new boss is my mysterious stranger - Dr. Ethan Jackson.

I never meant for Ethan to discover my secrets. I never meant for them to matter. But the longer I work with him and his sweet daughter, the harder I fall and the clearer it becomes that I'm not the only one carrying a secret that could tear us apart.

The Runaway Bride Meets The Closed Off Doctor

Nicole faces a huge betrayal and leaves her home in Alabama for a chance to start over in Jackson Harbor Michigan. She gets a job as a nanny but when the man she is working for turns out to be the sexy doctor she met at the bar the night before things get interesting.

The narration is awesome.

This could have been a 5 star but the end felt a little rushed.

It was Alright

I found this book just alright. I didn't really get invested in any of the characters. I felt bad for Nic in places but she was too much of a push over. She forgave her sister way too fast for what she did. She forgave Ethan to fast for things that he said and she wouldn't even stand up for herself really. I understand that Ethan had a hard time with his marriage and the death of his wife but I just didn't really find that a good reason to treat Nic the way he did.
I did find the brothers funny though and Teagan was the best.
For the most part, I found this book a little too long. It got a little boring at times but I did finish it so I guess that matters.

Great book, awesome reader!

The book had a great storyline and was interesting (in a good way.) the person reading the book us a nice, understandable voice and reads with a lot of inflection.

I highly recommend this book.... unless you’re uncomfortable to hear a little bit of vulgarity.

Finding love just when you’ve sworn off

Imagine finding out that your identical twin is pregnant with your fiancé’s baby when you’re at the altar. This is what happens to Nicole. Heartbroken and betrayed, and having her twins’s purse, Nicole flies to Michigan where her sister was supposed to be taking a job. On the night that should have been her wedding night, Nicole is drowning her sorrows at a bar when she encounters a hot guy. They make it to her hotel room and fool around but then he has to leave for work. The next morning, she meets an old friend who had arranged for a job for her twin. Nic decides to meet with the lady and tell her the truth...that her sister is no longer available to accept the nanny position for her granddaughter. However, the woman convinces Nic to trade places with her sister...after all, it’ll only be for 3 months.
Obstetrician, widower and single dad, Ethan Jackson, has been mourning his wife for 3yrs now, and has relied heavily on his mother for childcare for his 5yo daughter. With his mom taking a prolonged trip to Europe, he needs a live in nanny. He has willingly allowed his mom handle interviewing and hiring the nanny. Imagine his surprise when the new nanny is none other than the woman from the bar. The chemistry between the pair is sizzling but there are so many secrets between them...we just know this is going to end badly.
I really enjoyed this story and appreciated the delicate way that the author brought attention to depression. This series is off to a great start and I am looking forward to finding out more about the Jackson family.

Great new series

I really liked this book about starting over for both of the characters. Nik is running from her wedding that was interrupted by finding out that her identical twin was pregnant with her soon to be husband's baby. She leaves so fast that she ends up with her sister's purse. She ends up taking the job that her sister was going to have and pretending to be her. Ethan hasn't moved on from his wife's death. I liked how the story progressed and the character developments. The narrators were very good. I want to listen to the next book in the series.

awesome read

Great story, good way to introduce and discuss depression. Nicole had a lot of struggles but at the end realize that Ethan was her partner in crime in this thing we call life. Family support and having great friends helps too.

Great first Lexi Ryan book!!

I've been seeing Lexi Ryan books around for years and was so excited to dive into one! I don't know if all her books are this fabulous but I sure devoured this one! It opened up in a major way and I was in Nic's corner ready to go in the next round offer her. Her ex and sister (said with a large amount of disdain) were not good enough to be in her life. Let's get to the good stuff... Ethan! Nic and Ethan set the room around them on fire with all those sparks! I could not get enough of them!

Summer Roberts and Tyler Donne were good narrators. I feel like they were both able to play their parts nicely. Donne has a softer male voice but it fits well with an obstetrician and i feel like he would have great bedside manner. Roberts has this delightful southern accent that I could not get enough of!! It made the character (Nic) sound her emotions a bit easier!!

Great story! Amazing Narration!

This is a great runaway bride and single dad story. Ethan and Nicole are both great characters. Nicole is a lovely woman, caring, fragile, and resilient. Ethan is handsome, understanding, and caring. His past is heartbreaking. His daughter, Lilly, is so cute! This story has a great cast of characters. They have an important part in this story, and I can't wait to know more about them. Ethan's mother, Kathleen, is a beautiful and strong character, supportive and caring. Veronica, Nicole's twin sister is selfish, unlikable, and self centered. I love the family spirit in the Jackson Family (Ethan's family). I like how the author writes about depression with compassion, and knowledge, without judgement. I love the ending. Summer Roberts and Tyler Donne did an amazing job with the narration. Looking forward to listen to the other books in this Series.

My Thoughts on The Wrong Kind of Love

I'm not sure what I loved more about this story.

Ethan aka Dr. McBroody Pants, our leading man, who was struggling with the loss of his wife a few years ago and due to his mom's impending trip, is in need of a nanny. He's a dedicated doctor, a loving father, an adoring brother, and a caring son. Even in his moody, broody moments, he's still amazing.

Nicole aka Nic, our leading lady, is very often described as "the good twin" and I could see why with everything I read about her and the more I felt I got to know her. The title was well deserved and my heart broke for all of the times she seemed to put herself out there for those she cared about and how often she seems to have been hurt for her trouble. But her heart was so big and she couldn't seem to help being a good person.

Then there was the whole Jackson clan, Ethan's family. They're one of those types of families I love where they're always in each others business but it comes from a good place. They all love each other and it's clear in the ribbing and riling. In the fighting and fussing. And in the laughter and love. This is the kind of family I myself would want to be a part of.

Friends and other family of the main characters also contributed greatly to this being such an amazing story. Teagan and Ava and even Veronica all played big parts in their own ways to making this story what it was. I loved everthing I just mentioned and I cannot wait to read the rest of this series and hopefully get to see all of these amazing characters find their happiness.

The narration for this one was pretty good. Summer Roberts and Tyler Donne are both newer to me, but they both gave enjoyable performances. Tyler has a gentler kind of voice that was very relaxing. Summer had a really good southern accent and had a sort of passion in the appropriate moments that made her voice likable.
