Publisher's summary

Nadia Williams needs somewhere peaceful to sort through her grief after her mother is brutally murdered. She finds a cozy cabin at the side of a tranquil lake in the quaint town of Misted Pines in the Pacific Northwest.

The minute she arrives, she knows it’s perfect.

The very night of her arrival, however, someone—or something—is scratching at her window.

The next morning, she meets her one and only neighbor, Doc Riggs. He’s a rough, good-time guy who rubs Nadia wrong immediately. They clash, and neither of them are happy to be sharing their lake.

But soon, Nadia learns the lore around her cabin and how the townsfolk are certain it’s haunted by the ghost of the man who was murdered there 15 years before.

Riggs and Nadia are suddenly thrown into a tangled web of history, betrayal, grief, secrets, with only one thing certain.

Someone—or something—wants them off that lake.

The programs of the RC Nation include Rock Chick Rendezvous, weekends Kristen organizes full of parties and get-togethers to bring the sisterhood together; Rock Chick Recharges, evenings Kristen arranges for women who have been nominated to receive a special night; and Rock Chick Rewards, an ongoing program that raises funds for nonprofit women’s organizations Kristen’s readers nominate. Story good. Male narrator not so much

Loved the book. I am not a fan of the males narration. Stella I like a lot. The male lead had to grow on me. I’m never a fan of men calling women B*tches and was not happy that he was so crude for a good part of the first 1/4 of the book. Liked The female lead from the start. Overall I enjoyed the book. Note: for the life of me I cant recall what happened in the first two books and don’t remember the players except the new sheriff. Odd for me and KA books. They were obviously forgettable in my mind. I think Natalya and twins and the sheriff will stick. 🤞🏾

Great story with slightly off narration.

The male narrator did a great job when narrating the story except for the voices he used for the male characters. The men all sounded overly dramatic and somewhat like a theater kid would sound like. The story made the main male lead sound broody and somewhat quiet in the book but sounded over the top in the audible reading. Otherwise this is another steller book by Kristen Ashley.

Not the same

Itt started out good. It didn't take long for it to become just babbling on. I never could understand who everybody was. This happened in book 2 also even though I didn't rate it bad. There first book was very good and stayed on task. I don't know what happened.

Good series!

Good series but the narrating in this one was rough. I stuck it out but at times it was hard. It could have been so much more intriguing. Hopefully the next will be different.

My favorite so far

I loved this book. I can admit that I listen to this series because KA wrote it, but I'm not a suspense reader. That being said, this book is my favorite of the series so far. I loved Riggs, Nadia, and Ledger! The storyline was great we get to see the relationship develop and all the couple has to go through while also figuring out a 15-year-old secret and murder.

Well, her voice is nice

The male narrator sounded like a 1940s radio personality. ALL THE TIME. If i was you, I'd have it recast.

Entertaining but…

The story, as always with Kristen Ashley, was very entertaining. I didn’t even listen to the last chapter before the end! The only downside, to me, was the male narrator. It sounded like he spoke in all capital letters. The story did not call for such constant
dramatics. He really made his parts hard to listen to.
